===== Editing pages =====

To edit any page, click the **Edit** button or use the page action menu. Make your changes, then save the page when you are done. If a page does not exist yet, follow the red link to create it. DokuWiki uses simple wiki syntax, and the syntax help page is a good reference when you need formatting examples. [web:7][web:2]

===== Using the sitemap =====

The sitemap shows the structure of the wiki as a tree of pages and namespaces. You can open it from the global navigation or with the sitemap action, and it is useful for browsing the overall layout of the wiki. If sitemap generation is enabled in the configuration, DokuWiki can also create an XML sitemap for search engines. [web:8][web:1][web:5]

===== Searching the wiki =====

Use the search box to find pages by keyword. DokuWiki search is case-insensitive and uses logical AND by default, so all search terms must appear unless you use operators such as `OR` or exclusions with `-`. You can also search within a namespace or use partial matching with `*`. [web:2]

Create your first pages by following the links on this homepage, then build out your documentation from there. A sidebar can also be added by creating the sidebar page, depending on the template you use. [web:7]
