Updated 12/15/20.

We had an incredible year filled with many miracles advancing AJR 77 in the legislature. We need one more, and it could still happen before December 31. Let's not give up hope.

Thus far the Wisconsin Senate has not gone back into session to pick up any legislation passed by the Assembly this year. I guess you could say, “It's nothing personal.”

While praying for this, we are looking forward to 2021. We want to make it clear. We need to fill out local teams in order to get the Wisconsin legislature to run through the entire process with the Convention of States Action resolution (restraining the federal government's spending, scope, and terms of office).

We need two hearings, two floor debates, and two successful votes. All of this requires specific input from you (reaching out to your legislators, organizing volunteers in your senate districts, testifying, writing letters, etc.)

Dan Knodl and Assembly Republicans (63 of them) really went to bat for us this year! Click here to see him on the assembly floor at the end of the discussion. You can scroll back to 5:12:35 to view the entire debate. Click on these links to view the public hearings in the Senate and Assembly, including citizen testimonies.

Over Christmas let's show our legislators and COS volunteers how much we appreciate them and be considering how we want to help as we move into 2021.

We're entering a new playing field and need a full team. Go to conventionofstates.com/take_action to become a District Captain or help one in your area. Many hands make for light work. This online process can be clunky, so give me a call or text to let us know you're trying to help (414-750-0327).

Enjoy your friends and family and remember who came to save us during this most important holiday season.

Godspeed,
Joanne Laufenberg
