Reports from RealClearInvestigations.com document the teenage Florida murderer committed numerous offenses on campus before his Valentine’s Day atrocity.
He was able to escape law enforcement attention and pass a background check to purchase the weapon he used because of Obama administration policies that purposely stopped reporting of serious school infractions.
“He had a clean record, so alarm bells didn’t go off when they looked him up in the system,” (said) veteran FBI agent Michael Biasello. “He probably wouldn’t have been able to buy the murder weapon if the school had referred him to law enforcement.”
This new report adds to the now well-documented fact that government at every level failed in Florida. Nevertheless, law-abiding gun owners, legal gun sellers, and organizations like the NRA that represent them are told it’s their constitutional rights that cause school shootings.
The D.C. elites’ answer is always to expand government control and diminish individual liberty, no matter the evidence that gross governmental incompetence and misguided federal policies are the enablers of this tragedy, not the Second Amendment.
Washington’s politicians will inevitably cave in to the loudest media-enabled liars, those who ruthlessly exploit every gruesome atrocity to expand their political power.
Our task is to win over the minds of those law-abiding gun enthusiasts and business owners now under relentless attack. This is why Convention of States Virginia wants to be a presence at every gun show we possibly can.
We will explain to gun show patrons that the Constitution’s last-ditch protection against federal tyranny is using Article V to convene an amendment-proposing Convention of States. It's not their fault that hearts are broken in Florida and across the nation, and restricting their rights will not prevent the next government-enabled atrocity.
Volunteers are needed to help with information booths at three gun shows in March. Below are the details. Even if you have only a few hours to contribute, please step-up and volunteer by contacting the persons shown.
