THE ACTIVIST
Grassroots update for the Georgia COS team
VOL. 1 | SEPTEMBER 2021

GAUNTLET GRADUATES
Welcome to the first issue of The Activist. Our hope is to
have the news and updates necessary for the COSGA
team's successes in one easy-to-reach spot. I know how
busy you all are, between work, family, and life. What we
are asking you to do for COS is not an easy task, but a
necessary one. You are part of history, no matter how you
look at it. When you volunteered to stand up and do
something for your nation, you drew a line in the sand.
You said ENOUGH! We as a team value you, your time,
and your commitment.
A Congratulations goes to the following
Leaders that put forth the time and
effort to complete the Georgia Training
Gauntlet.
Jeffrey hails from California
where he has been a DC since
August 2013 when Liberty
Amendments came out and
Michael Farris announced the
Project; “I'm an Acting Major
and my family are Reaganites
and they are supportive to
where my parents are involved
with COS MI; I'd love to meet
volunteers in my district and
see about meeting our state
legislators”
Frank Akridge Jr DC R8

The Gauntlet consists of 9 steps in which the
applicant must make contact and schedule one on
one training, with a particular Leader, on a
particular topic that will strengthen their knowledge
and abilities.

Jeanie and I have been in GA
for 5 years, love it. I am from
Texas and got here by way of
Louisiana, where my wife is
from. We discovered COS
through Biblical Citizenship
class and simply want to get a
constitutional republic back
for our kids/grandkids

Tony and I just attended the Regional Passed States Summit in Nashville, August 27-28.
Neither of us had any idea of what to expect.
There were some training seminars on handling events, legal matters like campaigning,
civics lessons on local government, etc. Tony was on a panel that was asked questions
pertaining to the grassroots and engagement. I was asked to give a presentation on
mentoring leaders in Georgia.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the secret sauce was in Georgia and how we
grew so fast and have so many great volunteers, especially our leadership team. What
makes us, as Jonathan Viaud puts it “an up and coming State”.
I knew “mentoring” was not what I consider myself doing. All I have been doing is asking
more of you, dialing in our structure, our training, our goals. You have been up to the
challenge. The success of the Gauntlet is a prime example.
In October, we will be working on our State Strategy and Legislative Strategy. We are
going to be following the lead of Texas and use our resources to push legislation that is
important to us and our liberties.
The next part I need from all of you is to strengthen our volunteer base. We have the
training and the structure. We are at war, and right now our weapon is knowledge. We
need to make sure our volunteers are armed and prepared as they go into this battle.
If you are a volunteer, a DC, or any other role, start by completing your
www.cosuniversity.com training. Then take the Biblical Citizenship classes.
Tony and Marcy Brooks from Tennessee will be starting a Volunteer call to action weekly
call. This is for all new and existing Volunteers. Everyone brings something unique to
the table and I am so excited for COS Georgia's future!
By the way, my biggest takeaway was the fellowship and genuine willingness to help
each other succeed. We are surrounded by the best patriots all the way up to and
including Mark Meckler.

For the first time ever in COS history, we have a Tennessee VS
Georgia ‘new volunteer’ contest. Marcy Brooks, the TN Regional
Grassroots Coordinator appeared on our Facebook live (August
25th) and challenged the Ga State Leadership team and our
District Captains to see which states can attract and onboard the
most volunteers from September 1 – December 31st? Both states
have struggled with volunteer engagement, so the timing of this
contest is perfect. Tony and Marcy are hosting “new volunteer
orientation” zoom meetings each Wednesday night at 8 PM to
inspire and educate a new crop of volunteers to get engaged in the
COS family and take action in their community. Both states
invited new volunteers to attend the first-ever multi-state training
session and it was a success! 32 volunteers participated in an hour-
long introduction to the COS culture and Article V followed by
breakout sessions. Each group of volunteers brainstormed what
activities can a volunteer do to advance the COS cause. Each new
volunteer committed to completing one of the activities. The Ga
team wants to onboard 100 new volunteers in 4 months. A new
volunteer must complete the FOUR COSU introduction videos in 2
weeks from the date the new volunteer attends the orientation
zoom call. New volunteers are encouraged to show up each week
and share progress and take new activity assignments. Our hope is
that we will find DC candidates. Be sure to reach out to all your
new applicants and send them to the meeting.
