The Convention of States Texas grassroots army once again answered a Call to Action at the Capitol on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. More than 400 COS supporters filled the Texas House Gallery, with hundreds more turned away at the door, all there to listen to Governor Greg Abbott declare the Convention of States resolution as an Emergency Item for the 85th Texas Legislature.

The COS Texas army has demonstrated time and again that they are willing to lead.
Now, with the momentum from the Governor's declaration, it's your turn to call on the legislators below, asking them to do their part and show leadership by signing on to House Joint Resolution 39 (HJR39), the Convention of States Resolution!
THE MOST EFFECTIVE CORRESPONDENCE LEGISLATORS RECEIVE ARE THOSE FROM THEIR CONSTITUENTS! Getting a lot of phone calls from people who are not their constituents will actually anger many legislators and could be counter productive to our efforts. You can be considered a “constituent” of a legislator if one of the following is true:
1. You live in, or own a business in, a legislator’s district, or
2. You have a personal relationship with the legislator, or
3. You have a connection through a shared belief or significant experience. Examples: If you are a veteran, you can consider yourself a constituent of any legislators who are also veterans. If you homeschool, you are a constituent of legislators who are advocates for home schooling or school choice.
If you can only do one thing, please start by calling these legislators for who you are a constituent and asking them to coauthor Governor Abbott's Emergency Item, Convention of States resolution HJR39.
Time is of the essence. Their public support of the Convention of States resolution will demonstrate true leadership in Liberty. Feel free to personalize your message by including why you think limiting federal power is so important. Make sure you include your name and your city.
Especially during session, many legislators don’t have time to keep up with email, but their staff will pick up the phone, and log your call, so this is a quick and easy way to make your voice heard.
