The vote is in the photo above, We FAILED to pass. 29-38. We thought we had the votes to pass by 1-2, but after talking with some of them that voted No, they did because they did not like what someone said that was speaking for COS passage.  So next year we start over. We will not give up or give in  DUTY IS OURS, THE RESULTS ARE GODS.                               the following are some varies photos.  South Dakota Convention of States was invited to do a presentation at the Coding County Republican Women’s monthly meeting in Watertown. SD, on Oct 18. 2024 at 11:30 am.                                                                          content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90336_90336_original.jpeg  content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90337_90337_original.jpeg  content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90338_90338_original.jpeg  content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90339_90339_original.jpg

DC 10 Aaron Levisay and Shirlee J Meier SD were the presenters.  Shirlee Meier spoke on the founding of Convention of States and who we are and Aaron Levisay did slide show presentation on Convention of States covering other things about COS. Aaron did an excellent job of presenting and also putting together the presentation. To see presentation slide show.          CLICK HERE

Rep Fred Deutsch was present and Glen Vilhauer (is running for Senate in SD 5) was present.                                                                                            content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90340_90340_original.jpg  content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90341_90341_original.jpg  content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90342_90342_original.jpg  content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_90343_90343_original.jpg

A lot of literature was given out and many great comments were received. There were about 50 people present and it was a very good meeting. The meeting broke up shortly after 1:00 pm.

                                 Central State Fair 2024

Aug 16 - 24, 2024  South Dakota Convention of States had a booth at the Central States Fair in Rapid City Aug 16 -City Aug 16 – 24, 2024. We were in the GenPro building.

We had some very good conversation and some very interesting ones. Wecontent.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_88384_88384_original.jpg had several with some that appose a Convention of States and think Nullification is a much better way. If that is the case then WHY are they not doing it NOW? Also, those who think we need to keep the status quo and just elect better people. SO how is that working for them, we have been doing that for How many years? Things have only gotten worse. A lot of information and materials and cards were given out.

Planting Seeds, watering seeds and watering seeds, God gives the increase.

content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_88375_88375_original.jpgI want to give a BIG Hug and Thank You to all the COS volunteerscontent.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_88376_88376_original.jpg that helped man the booth. They are the following people: Jim Schmitendorf, Volunteer (Jim is 90 years old and was there everyday for a couple of hours), Penny Van Zanten – Volunteer, Mike Weiler – content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_88379_88379_original.jpgVolunteer, DC - John James, DC -  Mike Duncan, DC - Scott Lewis and SD – Shirlee Meier.  This could not have happened with out your help.

In all the days at the fair I only saw two legislators there. Sad, but maybe I was looking in the wrong places so I did not see them.     content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_88383_88383_original.jpg

There were also a few charater at the fair. content.conventionofstates.com_cosaction-prod_public_content_images_88382_88382_original.jpg

Traffic was rather slow, not sure why, but I think it is because of the economy. Many families can not afford the expense of going to fairs and all the costs involved. They are picking and choosing what events they are going to do. I get this from the conversations that I have had with people.

Seth Schoon District 26 Captain gives a presentation.

This is an illustrated talk that I presented at our local 4-H youth in action day recently. In this speech I talk about six pastors that helped to win American independence. Included in this list are pastors Jonas Clark, Jonathan Mayhew, Jacob Duche, James Caldwell, John Peter Muhlenberg and Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg. I want to thank the historian David Barton for researching these men so that I could help to spread their stories to my peers.

Sincerely,
Seth Schoon
