After John Quincy Adams completed his term of office as President in 1829, he was elected to the House of Representatives. The son of two revolutionary patriots, John and Abigail Adams, he served in the House of Representatives for the last 18 years of his life, determined to end slavery. He was so vocal and resolute that the House passed a rule called “The John Quincy Adams Gag Rule.” The House tried to silence him, but they could not. He was nicknamed the “Hell-Hound of Slavery.” He would never quit until victory was his. When asked how he persevered in the face of ever-present opposition he said, “Duty is ours. Results are God’s.“

Just like the great patriots who went before us fighting for freedom. Writing the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and Article V to make our “We the People” voices heard. Patriots in America are once again fighting to hold onto that hard-won freedom that birthed our Nation.

The greatest tool we have to stay strong in our fight for freedom is prayer.

Prayer is comforting.

Prayer aligns our will to the Will of something Greater than ourselves. It reminds us who is in charge of the outcome, and who is in charge of the work that needs to be done to win back freedom from tyranny.

COS Volunteers do the volunteer work knowing God is in charge of the outcome.

Prayer strengthens our resolve. It gives us perspective and brings us insights and truth.

Just like John Quincy Adams who stood strong against the opposition, patriots are standing strong in our fight for freedom to save America. Praying helps us to do so. Prayer is the shoulder on which everything else stands.

Prayer gives us the opportunity to grow the COS Mission stronger in our hearts.

To this end, SE PA led by Volunteer Activist Reverend Gay, has formed a COS Prayer Warrior group. The group meets weekly on Thursdays at 10:30 AM and prays for 30 minutes on ZOOM.

Please join SEPA and let us pray for our country, our families, our children ever reminding us that the work is ours, the results are God's.
