Dear President Morehead,

We recently learned that UGA sent an email informing its faculty, staff, and students that their rights and this institution's integrity can be bought off by federal funds. UGA is supposed to be a center of learning and free thought, but it is instead creating an atmosphere of tyranny with forced vaccine mandates.

It is time to show your courage. We all know that something is not right, and that this federal intrusion is unconstitutional. We, as citizens of the state of Georgia, do not want to see this swept under the rug with a nonchalant “everything's okay” attitude.

Congress did not articulate a clear principle by legislative act that directs the Executive branch to take sweeping action that infringes on state and individual rights. The federal mandate as to federal contractors, that by-passed Congress and public notice and comment period to propose regulations, violates the separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches of our government, discriminates against citizens, and intrudes on Georgia's Tenth Amendment rights as a sovereign state.

Fight back for your faculty! Fight back for your staff! Fight back for your students! Fight back for Georgians everywhere!

The decisions we make now will impact future generations to come. We will all have to look them in the eye when they ask us, “What became of our rights?”

Know that if you stand up against these unconstitutional vaccine mandates, we will stand behind you. If you do not, we will hold you accountable.

Sincerely,

[Insert your name here]
