Prayer Warriors
Battle Plan
May 2019
May Events and Requests
• The COS Leadership Summit is taking place in August in Colonial Williamsburg. Keep the
planning process in prayer and ask that the right grassroots activists will be able to attend.
• Could North Carolina become “sweet sixteen”? Pray for legislative efforts there, wise strategy
for leadership, and active engagement by the grassroots.
• The national staff is growing! Pray for the right assignments of people to roles, good orienta-
tion of new staffers and effective integration into the team.
• Pray for adjustments to the COS regional structure in order to best meet the needs of all the
states, with the right assignment of Regional Director. Each state is unique!
Leadership Prayer Focus
Garrett Humbertson serves on the national staff as Digital Director. He
oversees the State Communication Coordinators and their efforts on the blog,
Facebook, and Twitter. He also produces promotional videos and works with
State Videographers.
Garrett requests prayer that he will serve the grassroots well. Another staff
member is coming on soon to work in the area of communications, so also pray for a productive
working relationship and good use of this new leader’s skills and experience.
Scripture of the Month
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
— 2 Timothy 1:7
We are grieved and troubled to see how many of our opponents are motivated by fear. Enable us,
Lord, to demonstrate a better way, one of courage and faith. We ask for power to speak and act in
a way that honors you and brings wholeness to our nation. We love America; help us to love each
other and even our opponents, bearing with each other and praying for each other even in the
midst of disagreements. And may nothing take the place of you, Lord, our first love. Teach us dis-
cipline in our personal lives and in the execution of our COS responsibilities, and use our efforts for
your glory.
