Prayer Team Guide - October 2022
Scripture of the Month - Isaiah 46:9-11
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and
there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to
come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ From the east I summon a bird of
prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I
have planned, that I will do.”
As we face midterm elections, let us remember who is Lord of all and entrust ourselves and our
country in His care.
“Sovereign Lord over all, we surrender ourselves to your will for the upcoming elections. We pray for
your Spirit to move in mighty ways over our country and its leadership. Put the right people you
desire into positions of influence to help our country continue to pursue liberty and justice for all.
Protect our polling places and those who tend to them. And no matter the outcomes, teach us to be
obedient to your call on our lives and to trust you to multiply that obedience in fruitfulness for
many years to come.”
The Power of Prayer
Many requests in this month, and in each of our guides, are about roles we need fulfilled for our
mission across the 50 states. There is a great harvest out there and laborers are needed for this
harvest.
“He (Jesus) told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the
harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:02
We know that there is much work to be done, so in obedience to our Lord, we will ask for God to
raise up those laborers. There is a practice of praying this prayer at 10:02am or 10:02pm every day
to keep this command ever before us and continue to entreat the Lord of the Harvest for those
laborers we need. Join us in setting an alarm on your phone or watch for 10:02am or pm or both
and pray with us daily as Jesus commanded us. Next time that alarm goes off, say this prayer with
us, “Lord of the Harvest, raise up many laborers for the work you have called us to.” And trust that
he will hear and respond to our requests.
