Prayer Team Guide - November 2023
The Power of Prayer
Jesus Prays for Unity
John 17 holds the longest prayer of our Lord Jesus. He is praying for Himself to be
glorified in His Father; for His Disciples to be sanctified by the truth that they are one; and
for all believers who believe in Him. This unity is not ‘sameness’ but rather unity in
principle, that being truth.
“I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may
know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17:21
God gave each of us different gifts and talents to be used to advance His kingdom. Our
unity is based on the truth of God. Be thankful for His truth. If there is no truth, there is no
unity.
“Sanctify them (set them apart) by your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17
