NJ COS District 8 held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 20, at the American Legion Hall in Pemberton. There were several newcomers, a couple of whom expressed an interest in volunteer positions.

District Captain Murn Myers and Regional Captain Jim Collinsworth led a discussion on freedom and what everyone can do to work towards preserving it in their everyday lives. A lively exchange ensued on areas of government overreach and how a Convention of States will address many of the problems plaguing our country.

Volunteer development is an ongoing focus for District 8 and was discussed at the meeting. There are many ways to get involved.

Becoming a Volunteer Activist is a great first step. It allows participants to “get their feet wet” while they grow in the organization and explore the myriad of roles available to take the next step.

The next meeting of District 8 will be on Wednesday, May 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Pemberton.
