On August 7th, 2021, the New Jersey leadership team met at Regional Captain Tara Fleming's house to chart the state strategy for the coming quarter.

Due to the explosive growth in New Jersey, and the limited capacity of the venue, for the first time ever, attendance had to be limited to District Captains, Regional Captains, and members of the statewide leadership team. Regional Director Monica Sellers flew in to attend, and Mark Meckler was able to join the team for a live discussion via Zoom call.

The topics discussed ranged across a broad array of topics, from solutions to handle the large influx of supporters and volunteers, to training, to coordinating events.

Over the past year, multiple volunteers have made significant contributions to the growth and operation of the COS NJ team, and State Director Chris Garzino took the opportunity to recognize their contribution by awarding Patriot Pins, the highest honor conferred by the state teams. Awardees included District Captain Tracy Grabiak, District Captain Rob Smithers, Regional Captain Glenn Barone, and Legislative Liaison Carlo Nardone. Chris himself was also awarded a Patriot Pin by the outgoing state director.

Of course, with the COS NJ team, it's never all business, and the team enjoyed a barbeque together, topped off with a COS branded cake, courtesy of District Captain Rob Smithers.

The COS NJ team is incredibly grateful for the passion of our volunteers and members, the continued growth of the movement, and the spirit of camaraderie that was so apparent at this meeting and is a hallmark of every COS NJ event.
