The Convention of States Michigan Team is comprised of 15 Regional Teams. The map below highlights each region geographically by color.
Regional Captain Job Simplified
Weekly do these 5 things 3X (or more). (Video walk through)
1. Check for Applicants (Volunteer Activist & District Captains) in the LMT (How to process an Applicant) (Volunteer Agreement)
2. Check Regional Followups (How to process Followup with Volunteer Interest)
3. Check your Regional Potential Volunteers List for new potential volunteers (How to process Potential Volunteers)
4. Check your cos email
5. Check Slack via app or website
Monthly do these 3 things.
1. Attend State Leadership Meetings
2. Hold a Regional Meeting (In person or virtual) with your Regional Leaders (District Captains, Event Coordinators, Legislative Liaisons, Followup Team Members, Social Media Warriors, State Content Writers, Veterans Coalition Team Members, Videographers, Information Analysts & Coalitions Team Members)
3. Have a coaching call or meeting with each of your DCs individually to formulate a plan for their HD.
3. Touch base with your DCs on off weeks to see if they require support.
4. Call or meet with your Senator and Representative
5. Submit Action Reports regarding your contact with your legislators

4. Discuss goals for your House District with your Regional Captain.

Regional Captain Responsibilities
- Support & Grow your existing District Captains into strong servant leaders.
- Communicate with DCs weekly.
- Hold a Regional Meeting (once a month)
- Have an individual coaching session by phone/zoom/in person where you make stated goals for each district with the DC. (once a month)
- Check in by phone/text/or email to see if the need any support. (twice a month - on weeks you aren't doing one of the above)
- Serve the volunteers of any district in your region that does not have a DC yet, by fulfilling the responsibilities of a DC (process volunteer applicant's, followups, and calling the assigned volunteers monthly).
