As Convention of States president Mark Meckler reminded attendees of the March 29 Weekly National Leadership call, the legislative process can be and nearly always is frustratingly slow.

Yet sometimes – as recently demonstrated in Nebraska, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and South Carolina – patient but purposeful tenacity can reap just rewards.

So it is for the Massachusetts COS team. Since the Article V COS resolution was favorably reported out of the General Court's Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs in early February, we have been eagerly waiting to learn which committee would next consider our cause.

Earlier this week it was announced that we were assigned the House Committee on Steering, Policy and Scheduling

While we await further information regarding potential hearing and debate schedules, the team is fully prepared to begin contacting committee members and COS supporters in their districts as we return to our grassroots fundamentals that served us so well.

We will keep you posted, and pledge to do our level best in order to help push the tally of state legislatures who have hopped aboard the unstoppable COS train to 20 or more in '22.
