Spicewood, Texas, was the site of the annual state leaders' strategy meeting for Convention of States Texas.
Fifteen COS patriots–including the State Director, Legislative Liaison, Communications Coordinator, and Regional Captains–met for two days to debrief the events of 2020 and plan for 2021.
“Relationships” was the watchword for the event and will be for the coming months. Engaging in political activism around the state will enable the team to build the relationships needed to communicate the COS vision.
Friday night started off with a chicken spaghetti dinner generously prepared by Regional Captain Edna Krueger of Odessa. The fellowship was followed by a discussion of lessons learned from the recent party convention in which many COS leaders participated.
Each member of the team also shared what he or she hoped to get out of the meetings.
Saturday began talking about growth and relationships. After lunch we had an extended session with Mark Meckler, who attended remotely and discussed COS involvement in get-out-the-vote efforts and other Texas state issues.
Not to be outdone, brother RCs Henry and Richard Bonnert contributed an amazing steak dinner that was cooked on the grill.
This was followed by a time where State Director Shelby Williams recognized the contributions of many of the volunteers with Patriot Pins.

Following an early worship time and breakfast, Sunday morning was spent detailing a calendar of events for the coming year and summarizing action items developed over the weekend.
While the COS Texas team communications regularly via conference calls and online chat, it is great to have opportunities to meet face to face. The weekend provided a welcome opportunity for both business and fellowship.
