Your efforts will help the Louisiana COS team to build relationships with our state legislators and find out their stance on our Article V project. The following steps will help you in completing the task. Please go here to find your legislators. Under the “Legislators” button, click on your legislator’s name for their contact information. Call your legislator’s office for an appointment before April 10 (the start of the legislative session). Make copies of the following documents and read them carefully. You will give a copy of the information to your legislators. We suggest putting the materials in a folder or binder for a more professional appearance. You may use dividers before each item. Strong Support for a Convention of States Nationwide Go to the following link to find the number of petition signers in each district. You’ll want to share this information with your legislators. After you have briefly gone over the material in the binder, summarizing the COS Article V project, find out if they support or oppose our efforts or if they need more information. You will submit that information along with any comments by completing this survey. Note: If you go with a partner, only one person should complete the survey. Ask your legislators if they have any legislation that they are pursuing for the coming session that fits with our mission of encouraging self-governance.
