New Volunteer Activist Randy Zich and Sam Carrao District Captain Cudahy WI braved 90-degree weather to spread the news about Convention of States by block walking in Franklin, WI. The team later talked about the Convention of States Foundation's simulation coming up this summer.

Block walking with Convention of States is powerful because it engages new people that are not familiar with our cause. At one door in Franklin the couple actively cheered us on! They were amazed they had never heard of Article V and Convention of States. They were very enthusiastic about both our cause and the fact that Americans were in their neighborhood working for freedom.

This was the first block walking experience for Randy and Sam. They took turns door knocking while the other waited patiently out by the curb. For training, Art Binhack WI Blockwalk Captain accompanied them with a few pointers. Randy and Sam know all about Convention of States flexibility motto, “Act, Learn, Adjust”.

One of Sam’s adjustments was to wear more comfortable shoes next time. Saturday, he chose dress shoes. They looked good, but he said he could have been more comfortable.

The team chose Franklin, Wisconsin, as a good area to block walk which proved fruitful. Some folks were not at home despite starting at 10 am. Sam and Randy worked the numbers to get the word out to the neighborhood. If no one answers, no problem, just go on to the next door.  When the team got hot, they paused under a shade tree for a few moments.

Afterward, Randy, Sam, and Art retreated to a air-conditioned restaurant nearby and talked about the block walking experience. The emphasis was on freedom fighting, using light-hearted talk and fun.

Convention of States Foundation's Simulation
At the restaurant after block walking, the subject of the Convention of States Foundation's simulation came up. The team engaged in a spirited discussion on what amendments are best to discuss at a convention of states. Sam, Randy, and Art found the subject to be energizing. It engaged the creative process.

A little background, Convention of States Foundation is hosting the second simulation soon. It is being held in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, August 2-4, 2023. And it will be a practice run of a convention of states. Wisconsin has three patriots attending as commissioners. Wisconsin Senator Dan Knodl, Representative Donna Rozar, and Board Member Eric O’Keefe. We are very grateful to have such skilled and dedicated patriots in our state! A heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to our three Wisconsin commissioners for the simulation.

The simulation is important, it helps prepare for the real one, coming in the not so far off future. The “commissioners” or “delegates” prepare by reading about how a convention works, Article V, and potential amendments that may be proposed. They also read history about conventions, and how colonies, and later states used the convention process.

Convention of States Foundation is also preparing for the simulation. Work on a model regulation for states on how to select the commissioners or delegates to the convention is under way. Wisconsin has already written its own statute for selecting delegates or commissioners to an Article V convention. It is entitled “2017 Act 83” How Wisconsin Chooses "Delegates" or "Commissioners" for the Convention

To find information on the simulation, just go to the Convention of States website https://conventionofstates.com and search for “simulation”. There are plenty of great video’s a from the first simulation the Convention of States Foundation hosted in 2016.

We as individual citizens can also submit proposals for amendments to be considered at the Convention of States Foundation's simulation. Submit them here Propose Simulation Amendments. The deadline for submission is July 7, 2023.
