Thank you to everyone who attended our Zoom call with COS President Mark Meckler! If you were unable to attend, the call was scheduled to discuss strategy for defeating a recission bill introduced into the North Dakota Senate, SCR 4004. The recording of the call can be found below.
A committee hearing is scheduled for this Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 9:00am. To defeat this effort, we need YOUR help!
As mentioned on the call, the North Dakota legislature prefers to hear from constituents on these issues more than outsiders. Your voice is what will carry the most weight, so we ask that you speak out against this resolution.
To submit written, or written and oral, testimony, please visit North Dakota Legislative Branch website. If you need help, this video will walk you through the process. You may also contact Passed States Regional Director, Jonathan Viaud, at 201-394-7838, or COS North Dakota volunteer, Jeremy Neuthart, at 701-388-9063. Testimony must be submitted prior to 8:00am on Thursday, January 28.
When writing your testimony, remember to keep it simple, and to tell your story! Don't worry about trying to refute the opposition's point of view; instead, focus on the reasons you support Convention of States, and why the committee should, too!
If you are willing and able, please consider attending the committee hearing in person at the North Dakota State Capitol. Jonathan, Jeremy, and Dave Schneider will be there, and we hope you'll be able to be there, too! The hearing will be held in Room 216.
Thank you for attention to this important matter. With your support, not only will we defeat this recission effort, we will send a message to the entire country that Convention of States is here to stay!
