COS National Update:
Our National COS team has been
crisscrossing the nation for grassroots rallies,
meetings with legislators, and votes on the
COS Resolution across the country.
So much activity is happening, it’d be
impossible to send out updates on every
victory, so we wanted to send out a few key
progress updates.
In the past 7 weeks, we’ve filed the COS
Resolution in eighteen states.
Seventeen states have assigned our resolution
to committee, six states have held committee
hearings with good outcomes for COS.
Keep in mind, in order to fully pass in a state, it
requires securing sponsors, filing the
resolution, getting assigned to a committee,
passing committees in both the House and
Senate, sometimes including additional
subcommittees, and then passing the floor in
both chambers.
It is a long and rigorous process, but we’ve
already secured 19 passed states. Experience
is on our side. And more importantly, the
American people are on our side.
As of today, we have over 5.4 million
supporters, with volunteers that span political
parties and every single state house legislative
district in the nation. That is unheard of.
Our state teams are organizing block walking,
telephone banking, yard sign campaigns,
and hosting rally days where activists can
deliver petition signatures and have one-on-
one meetings with their state legislators, and
they are working around the clock to execute
on their individualized state victory strategies.
Meanwhile, Mark Meckler, Mike Farris, and
Rick Santorum are traveling from state to
state to provide expert testimony before votes,
rally the grassroots, and have intimate one-on-
one meetings with state legislators. We are
leaving no stone unturned.
In the coming days, Kansas is preparing for an
important vote in the Senate. Rick Santorum
will fly to North Carolina to meet with
legislators. Next, Mark Meckler and Mike
Farris will head to North Carolina for town hall
meetings.
Meanwhile, Maryland is preparing for a vote in
the Senate Committee, Indiana is hosting a
rally at the capitol, and Rhode Island will have
a House Committee hearing. Things are
looking good in Iowa, North Dakota,
Oklahoma, New Hampshire, and Texas.
For America,
The Convention of States Team

Legislative Liaison:
On Friday, March 3, the Utah legislature ended
the legislative session for 2023. But you can
still, as a self-governing citizen of the state of
Utah, contact your legislators about legislation
that matters to you.
Below we have outlined some bills that our
COS team has been tracking. If you are
interested in contacting your legislators about
any of these pieces of legislation, you can find
your House Representative and Senator's
contact information here.

- This bill amends provisions regarding student
access to pornographic or indecent materials
within the public education system.
•
H.B. 467 Abortion Changes - This bill
modifies provisions related to abortion.
•
H.B. 297 Victim Services Amendments -
This bill modifies provisions related to certain
victims of sexual crimes including an abortion
based upon rape or incest.
•
H.B. 253 Federalism Commission
Amendments - Allows the Utah Federal
commission to refer unconstitutional acts to
interim committees.
•
H.B. 21 Open and Public Meetings Act
Amendments - Freedom of Speech
Amendment: This bill requires a public body
holding an open meeting to allow a reasonable
opportunity, for the public to provide verbal
comment at the meeting, with certain
exceptions; and requires a public body to adopt
a resolution, rule, or ordinance allowing public
comment in a public meeting.
Thank you for your continued support of

Utah Update:
Have you noticed that you might be in a new Utah
House District?
All United States Representatives and state
legislators are elected from political divisions called
districts. Redistricting is the process by which
new congressional and state legislative district
boundaries are drawn. The states redraw district
lines every 10 years following completion of the
United States census. The federal government
stipulates that districts must have nearly equal
populations and must not discriminate on the basis
of race or ethnicity.
To look up to see if you have a new Utah House
District and see who your legislator is check out this
site:

Last Month Events:
Operation Equip -
With Joanne Martin
The Utah Leadership team went through Operation
Equip. It started the last Wednesday in January
and went thru February!
Class #1
– Was on Slack (the internal messaging
system COS uses) Basics and the COS App.
Class #2
– Was on the Follow-Up Tools.
Class #3
– Was a conversation with Ginny Rapini
and Rick Santorum on “How to best communicate
with your Legislators”.
Class #4
– Was on Communications in Citizen
Builder. Messages/ Notifications /Email Blasts, and
Text Blasts.
Class #5
– Was in the Leader Management Tool
(LMT) on
“How best to on-board a Volunteer
Activist.
”
And we always had time for Questions & Answers.
These classes were designed to sharpen our skills
as an activist and train us on the tools that Citizen
Builder offers. As a District Captain, Regional
Captain, Legislative Liaison, or any other leader,
these tools are incredibly valuable for us to use in
our pursuit of liberty.
In our effort to preserve the integrity of the
Constitution, let's develop our skills as activists and
become the self-governing citizens we are intended
to be!
If you missed any of these classes, they have been
recorded and placed on COS Utah Slack on the
Channel - Operation Equip.

What brought you to COS (Your Why): I
have been watching the increase in
government corruption over the past years,
and no longer recognize the country in which I

Inspirational thought: COS appears to me,
as one of the few peaceful alternatives that we
have left to bring back the Constitutional
republic in which I was born.
More about You: I lived most of my life in
Georgia, where I married and had two sons.
After graduation from Emory University, I
