Utah Last Month:
We had a great June In-Person meeting at the
South Jordan Library. We discussed:
A. – “Brilliant explanation of Article V &
Convention of States” - by Robert Kelly, Staff
Counsel of Convention of States
Action: BRILLIANT explanation of Article V \\
Convention of States - COSAction \\
B. – The Convention of States Platform – What the
Convention of States would discuss and are
proposing:
1 – Impose fiscal restraints on the federal
government – have a balanced federal budget.
2 – Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal
government.
3 – Term limits on Congress and federal officials.
C. – Contact your Legislators – if you don’t know
who they are – here is a good link that can show
you: Utah State Legislative District Maps
District Map (utah.gov) . Just click on that link and
put your home address and zip code in the open
cells then click “Find” it will bring up your local state
Representative and your Senator. You can click on
their name to get their phone #, address, and
email. It’s best to send them a handwritten letter –
they will take notice of that!
D. – Video - How can you get involved with COS –
Take Action link: Take action - COSAction \\

Legislative Liaison:
Be sure to contact your Legislators
–
YOU ARE THE BOSS!! Act like it!!!
Elected officials represent our community and
our interests, so let them know who you are
and what you care about! Take time to
introduce yourself and your organization to
public officials serving your community
–
including both federal and state
representatives.
Make an appointment and discuss:
1- Their stance on Convention of States.
2- What Bills they are working on that COS
could possibly get behind and support.
3- Notify your District Captain, or Regional
Captain, or Legislative Liaison with the
results after contacting them.

Monthly Spotlight:
Name: Mark Pingeton
COS Title: District Captain in training - Weber
County District 9
City raised in: Worcester, Massachusetts
City currently living in: West Haven, Utah
Favorite Hobbies: Coaching, RV
traveling/camping, New England sports fan!!
Go Celtics.
What brought you to COS (Your Why): Our
government, which we supposedly elect, will
abuse their power and not make decisions that
benefit the American people and puts them at
a disadvantage. We have to place this power
back with the states and their patriots.
Inspirational thought: We must walk in faith
first
More about You: I am a proud father of 3
energetic, athletic kids that play a variety of
sports. I have a passion for coaching and
teaching kids about sports. I
’ve been married
to my wife Michelle for 18 years. We moved
here from Massachusetts in 2012 while she
was pregnant with our 3rd child and starting a
new job out here in Utah.
I have degrees in communications and
business and currently employed as a federal
contractor supporting the government on Hill
AFB. My wife is a veteran of the United States
Air Force, and two of my brothers are veterans
of the United States Navy. We are committed
to supporting our veterans.
We are also advocates for fostering and
adopting dogs and have supported a variety of
animal services in Ogden and Salt Lake.
