COS National Update:
An Open Letter to the States ~ America’s
Future Depends on Your Leadership
Published in Blog on July 02, 2022 by Heidi Workman
WE THE PEOPLE of the Convention of States
movement declare that the United States
government has failed to secure the rights of the
American people as called for in the Declaration of
Independence. Instead, the federal government,
dominated by career politicians, has usurped power
from the people and the states over many decades,
effectively dismantling the principles of federalism
that the founding fathers forged into the U.S.
Constitution.
We now issue this Open Letter to the States to
communicate our grievances with the federal
government:
• It has amassed a $30+ trillion national debt with
$150 trillion in unfunded liabilities.
• It regularly fails to balance its budget, as most
states are required to do.
If you would like to see the additional 20
grievances with the federal government and what
is planned, please click this link to read on:

Monthly Spotlight:
Name: David R. Oakeson
COS Title: Volunteer
City raised in: Taylorsville, Utah
City current living in: West Jordan, Utah
Favorite Hobbies: Running, flying, singing in
Spanish choir.
What brought you to COS (Your Why): I feel our
country is in serious trouble, many in office now are
not doing their job supporting correct principles and
the people.
It’s sad to see the constitution being
abused and our freedoms being destroyed.
In the constitution if
we don’t follow sound
principles we run into problems. COS has many
solutions to the problems we are facing today. I
hope the country gets off the crashing constitution
and gets on board a sound design that will get us to
the proper destination.
Inspirational thought: We need to acknowledge
the Creator
’s input, the founding fathers wisdom
and insight in the constitution. We must continue
on the pathway to correcting tyranny, government
abuse, and awake the people from ignorance.
More about You: I Love to run, in school and a
few marathons, favorite run is 10k or half marathon.
Always liked construction, so became a general
contractor. Do most things but plumbing and
electrical.

American Campfire Revival with Rick Green, Kirk
Cameron, and Mark Meckler:
Join Kirk Cameron around the campfire as he
guides you through
“The American Covenant”:
The Untold Story, the book that millions of people
studied while gathered virtually in Kirk’s backyard,
starting the movement now known as the
American Campfire Revival. Now in quick video
lessons designed for group discussion, Kirk is
joined around the fire by author Marshall Foster,
and together, they will guide you through the
miraculous beginnings of America, revealing its life-
giving secrets and forgotten covenants, while
setting a road map for today to defeat the darkness
and stir a passion for liberty!
American Campfire Revival, Patriot Academy and
Convention of States are teaming up to bring you
this course in an easy to share format so that you
can gather with friends and family to be inspired
and educated through this course. Kirk Cameron,
Rick Green, & Mark Meckler welcome you, then
watch the videos with your family and friends.
Revival doesn’t die if there are enough liberty-
loving people to fuel it, and we hope this training kit
will guide you to fan the flames of faith and good
works into a wildfire that brings new and lasting life
to America.

COS IT/Tech Tips:
1 - Onboarding can only be done for positions of
less importance than yours, i.e. DCs can only
onboard Volunteer Interest people, RCs can only
onboard DCs and below, GRCs can onboard SIAs,
RCs and below etc.
2 - When onboarding anyone, the items in the
onboarding checklist that say they are automatically
checked, it's only done when a note or comment is
done using the “contact” list. When a note is
entered under that contact heading, it puts a
checkmark in the appropriate box in the onboarding
checklist.
