COS SURGE AT THE STATEHOUSE- January 12, 2016

Last Wednesday we completed our first COS SURGE at the Statehouse and secured more support. Volunteers came from all over the state to hand deliver educational articles regarding COS. We wore COS buttons and became a visual cue to everyone in the building. We had several success stories including one volunteer, William Fenley of Greensburg who took the day off work to join us. William notified his legislator that he was in the building and would like to speak with her. She made time for an appointment along with COS leadership and discussed our plan. She is in agreement and will vote YES! That is self governance IN ACTION. Constituents showing up IN PERSON speaks volumes about the importance of our issue.

We will be meeting again this Tuesday Jan 12th at 8:45am on the third floor outside the House Chambers. After that we will be meeting on Wednesdays, Jan 20, 27, Feb 3,10,17, and 24. If you would like to make your voice heard, please fill out our OPERATION COS SURGE FORM or contact David Waters 317-862-1045 (david.w.waters@sbcglobal.net) or Rick Hodge 317-294-7946 (cos.in.dc.89@gmail.com). Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of history!

UPCOMING CALLS TO ACTION:

Please be ready for Calls to Action as we make our way through committee and a floor vote. We will need you to call your Senator and tell them to vote YES on the COS Resolution. Not sure who your Senator is? Find out here. Even five phone calls on an issue is enough to change a state legislator’s mind. Calls are better than emails and emails are better than nothing!

TEXT UPDATES:

Situations in the General Assembly can be fluid. Sometimes we need to react in a matter of hours! That’s where text messages are critical. To opt in, please sent the text “COSIN” to the number 68398. This will put you into the system to receive up to the minute calls to Action from the Indiana team.

Thank you for your support. This is a grassroots effort, so your involvement will determine our success. It’s time to Stand up, Show up, Speak up!
