With a new year comes new opportunities to advance the Convention of States mission in New Jersey.
On Saturday, January 23, volunteers from all corners of the state converged in Middletown to discuss strategies and determine actions to further build the COS movement and capitalize on momentum in the Garden State.
State Director Seth Essendrop led the highly-engaged, eager crowd through the team's plans to engage New Jersey state legislators in the cause of Convention of States.
New Jersey received updates on activities, including COS status within the respective New Jersey legislative bodies and contacts with prominent legislators from Legislative Liaison Carlo Nardone and Kirk Durham.
Marilyn Colon (District 19 Captain) filled in the details, providing the specific actions and significant dates in the COS action plan, including the potential dates for “Trenton Day” when COS volunteers plan to descend on the state's capitol and champion the cause directly with state legislators.
Regional Director Monica Sellers provided the national perspective and updates on significant advances from around the country.
Finally, discussions surrounded the nearly 500 new petition signers and potential volunteers needed to be contacted as momentum builds in 2021 in third oldest state of the union.
