Convention of States Missouri

Communications Tools

Overview

Because of how our computer program is designed and the fact that we must use external resources to communicate with our supporters and legislators, amongst our team members, and to others we have four main sources of communication:

  1. Within the Convention of States website (www.conventionofstates.com) we can send emails to our supporters from within their profiles. We also can receive one-way notifications from National via the Citizen Builder Dashboard/Messages/Inbox.
  2. MailChimp provides us with email blast capabilities as well as individual emailing to our supporters. However, this provider does not have access to our supporter database so any replies from supporters are returned to another external email provider, Roundcube. Depending upon your role assignment(s) and how your profile is set up you will have:
    1. No account at all
    2. An account which forwards to your personal email
    3. An account with a login separate from the Convention of States website. Any replies from supporters should be copied and added to the Contact Log in their profile. Roundcube is the provider but their name will not show on the screen you.

For more information on how to use Roundcube, please visit https://roundcube.net/

In essence, Slack is a cross between emailing and texting. Depending upon your role assignment(s) you should have access to the workspaces as shown below:<HTML></p></HTML><HTML></li></HTML><HTML></ol></HTML>

M.J. Alexander, a COS volunteer in Arizona created a great ‘cheat sheet’ which you may find helpful: Slack Magic (If you have access to the COS COMMS workspace, this file is also located on the Slack Magic channel.

Additional help is available at https://slack.com/

Please also refer to the ‘Messages Section’ of your role’s guidebook if you have access to Citizen Builder.
