All creature life is beset by certain inevitabilities. Consider the following: 1. Is courage — strength of character — desirable? Then must man be reared in an environment which necessitates grappling with hardships and reacting to disappointments. 2. Is altruism — service of one’s fellows — desirable? Then must life experience provide for encountering situations of social inequality. 3. Is hope — the grandeur of trust — desirable? Then human existence must constantly be confronted with insecurities and recurrent uncertainties. 4. Is faith — the supreme assertion of human thought — desirable? Then must the mind of man find itself in that troublesome predicament where it ever knows less than it can believe. 5. Is the love of truth and the willingness to go wherever it leads, desirable? Then must man grow up in a world where error is present and falsehood always possible. 6. Is idealism — the approaching concept of the divine — desirable? Then must man struggle in an environment of relative goodness and beauty, surroundings stimulative of the irrepressible reach for better things. 7. Is loyalty — devotion to highest duty — desirable? Then must man carry on amid the possibilities of betrayal and desertion. The valor of devotion to duty consists in the implied danger of default. 8. Is unselfishness — the spirit of self-forgetfulness — desirable? Then must mortal man live face to face with the incessant clamoring of an inescapable self for recognition and honor. Man could not dynamically choose the divine life if there were no self-life to forsake. Man could never lay saving hold on righteousness if there were no potential evil to exalt and differentiate the good by contrast. 9. Is pleasure — the satisfaction of happiness — desirable? Then must man live in a world where the alternative of pain and the likelihood of suffering are ever-present experiential possibilities. While perhaps well intentioned, vaccine passports and mandates disregard our inalienable rights to privacy, religious liberty, and bodily autonomy. The decision to receive a COVID-19 vaccination is a personal choice and one that every individual should make for themselves. It is not appropriate to intrude on any American’s personal health decisions by keeping tabs on who has or has not received a vaccine through “passports,” or by mandating individuals receive the vaccine. To combat privacy issues such as these, I am a proud co-sponsor of S. 1932, the No Vaccine Passports Act. This legislation, originally introduced by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), of which I am a member. This legislation seeks to prevent the use of federal funds to create a vaccine passport for the purpose of monitoring or tracking individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Please know that I will continue to fight for Hoosiers’ freedoms and rights to privacy in Washington D.C. It is an honor to serve as your U.S. Senator from Indiana. Please keep in touch with me on issues of concern to you. You can also follow me on Twitter or Facebook for real-time updates on my activities in the U.S. Senate. If I ever may be of service, please do not hesitate to contact me. Senator Braun’s statement on President Biden's vaccine mandate announcement: “President Biden is reeling from his failures in Afghanistan, the border, and our economic recovery by desperately overstepping his authority with vaccine mandates for private businesses that violate the individual liberty this country was built on.” | ONE NATION UNDER GOD | Aspirational Goal: To bring a Political and Spiritual Awakening to America. | PRAYING FOR WISDOM by Tim Heidenreich – SIA and Prayer Coordinator – COS Inidana Team ![]() One of the most frustrating things we face today is the lack of solid facts we can trust. We often hear people say things like “your truth is not my truth” or “it's okay for you to believe that, but it's not for me.” We listen to doctors with conflicting opinions, media “professionals” with opposing reports, and we get plenty of half-truths or slanted versions of facts. Even respected Christian leaders and various denominations of Christian churches proclaim different versions of the gospel and different meanings of the same scripture verses. What can we believe? Where do we go for truth? I go to the Bible, and I pray for wisdom to know the truth. I hope you do too. And let's hope our political leaders pray for wisdom. It sure seems to be lacking in Washington today. Here are a few clear verses about wisdom that comes from prayer; James 1:5 – “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Proverbs 2:6 – “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding” Jeremiah 29:12-13 – “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Psalm 55:16-17 – “As for me, I call to God … and he hears my voice.” Please join us in praying for: * Jennifer Heidenreich – in need of comfort and healing (cancer treatment) * David Trombly – in need of comfort and healing (for cancer treatment) * Olivia Parrish – in need of comfort and healing Call or email Tim with your prayer requests at Tim's Phone: (317) 910-2992 **Email Prayer Requests** | TRADITIONS | ![]() | 0016a4b8fd0c84c10871045cd9d81017.jpg?image_play_button_size=2x&image_crop_resized=960x540&image_play_button=1&image_play_button_color=1e71e7e0 Our Prayer For 911 | THE SAD END OF THE BOY SCOUTS by Mark Franke ![]() I recall, just barely, reading James Burnham’s “Suicide of the West” back in my undergraduate days. While not being able to recall most of his arguments, I believe his point was that we are doing this to ourselves. He blamed liberalism, in its modern and not classical definition, for an erosion of our moral and spiritual foundations. Jonah Goldberg borrowed that apocalyptic title for a recent book in which he blamed the woke movement for attacking the fundamental values of our American polity. His is more of a classical liberal’s viewpoint but if you want to read 400+ pages of mostly depressing prose, be my guest. I haven’t made it through it yet but I will keep trying. I find it at once incredible and incredulous how quickly our political, cultural and business elites rolled over in the face of this onslaught. Take the Boy Scouts as a microcosm of this self-induced death march. Membership in the Scouts has declined by nearly two-thirds since 2019. This decline is in spite of the national organization’s well-publicized commitment to the current gods of diversity and inclusion — they now have a chief diversity officer — and they have opened membership to girls. Declined in spite of? Perhaps because of. Sure, they can blame Covid for the decline. Every other negative trend is blamed on Covid these days, with some justification, but mostly Covid simply accelerated what was already headed downhill. There is also the embarrassing settlement of decades old sexual abuse claims to the tune of $850 million, better than $1,000 per current scout and being assessed in large part to local councils since the national organization is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Pressure from woke cultural warriors and the LGBT lobby surely had something to do with all this. Despite winning a First Amendment Supreme Court case in 2000 upholding its exclusionary membership policy, the Boy Scouts national leadership determined to get on-board the woke train before it left the station. It seems the pressure was not applied directly to the Boy Scouts; observers inside and outside the organization point to major corporate sponsors and national board members as the targets and the actual pressure points. Moral cowardice among this crowd shouldn’t surprise anyone anymore. I saw this cultural battle firsthand. The Lutheran church I attend sponsored a Boy Scout troop for boys in our school as well as the general public. Elders of the church served as adult leaders and activities had a religious component. Parents knew that and voluntarily chose our troop for their sons. Five or so years ago, our leaders were called to a meeting at which they were warned to expect a ruling from the national organization that we could not enforce traditional membership or leadership standards. New rules were in the offing and we would not receive a religious exemption from them. Shortly thereafter I spoke with the national vice president of our church body, who was involved in discussions with the Boy Scouts to allow for religious liberty at the troop level. He was not confident of success. His premonition proved accurate. We were ready when the dictate came down. Our troop leaders had been authorized by the congregation’s voters assembly to return the Boy Scout charter and recharter with Trail Life USA, a similar organization which respects religious liberty and actually encourages a faith component in the boys’ training. The transition was smooth and our troop now has a larger membership than before. This has happened across the nation. The Mormons formed their own scouting organization and returned all their charters. Other church-based troops did the same. Trail Life, for example, is pushing toward a thousand chartered troops. The Boy Scouts were already membership-challenged with changing social mores which deemphasized and even demonized such traditional values as faith, fatherhood, families, masculinity and patriotism. It could have served as a beacon for those who fervently want to perpetuate in their sons those same values which have served us so well. Alas, the national leadership chose to be swallowed up by the nihilistic flavor of the month. Their participation numbers demonstrate that many Americans voted their disapproval with their feet. Regardless of the cultural wilderness enveloping us, there is still a remnant which holds to traditional Boy Scout values — duty to God and country, moral uprightness, loyalty, obedience to authority, dependability and helpfulness to those in need. They and their sons and grandsons can no longer find that in the Boy Scouts . . . assuming the Boy Scouts even can continue to function as an organization. Rest in peace, or good riddance? Either way, it is a sad commentary on where America is headed. Her solution? Members of Congress coming together and voting to raise the debt limit once again, confirming that the Democrats truly have no plan to stop spending money we don’t have. As it stands, the United States national debt is roughly $29 trillion – and increasing by the second. The debt per citizen is around $86,000, and the debt per taxpayer is more than $228,000. The federal budget deficit is more than $3 trillion. Want to see the breakdown yourself? Just head over to the U.S. National Debt Clock website. Treasury Secretary Yellen published a letter on Wednesday describing how her department was likely to run out of cash and exhaust all possible “extraordinary” measures to keep the federal government within its currently accepted legal borrowing limit. She said that once all cash and available measures are fully exhausted within the next month or so, the United States would be unable to meet its spending obligations for the first time in history. Technically, if the United States needs to borrow even more money, then it is already unable to meet its spending obligations… The letter was sent to controversial House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in the hopes that they will be able to rally members of Congress behind plans to raise the debt limit. Yellen called on all lawmakers to come together to raise the limit, warning that waiting until the last minute to either raise or suspend the debt limit would cause serious damage to consumer and business confidence and even raise the short-term cost of borrowing money for American taxpayers. It would also impact the credit rating of the United States. How long is this kind of borrowing sustainable? | UNCANNY RESEMBLANCE?![]() ![]() George Soros | Janet Yellen | National Archives Slaps “Harmful Content” Warning On Constitution, All Other Founding Documents ![]() by Haley Strack | The Federalist | September 8, 2021 | The National Archives Records Administration placed a “harmful content” warning on the Constitution, labeling the governing document of the United States as “harmful or difficult to view.” The warning applies to all documents across the Archives’ cataloged website, including the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. “NARA’s records span the history of the United States, and it is our charge to preserve and make available these historical records,” the administration said in a statement. “As a result, some of the materials presented here may reflect outdated, biased, offensive, and possibly violent views and opinions. In addition, some of the materials may relate to violent or graphic events and are preserved for their historical significance. The NARA, which is responsible for preserving and protecting documentation of American heritage, noted that so-called harmful historical documents could “reflect racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes; be discriminatory towards or exclude diverse views on sexuality, gender, religion, and more,” and “include graphic content of historical events such as violent death, medical procedures, crime, wars/terrorist acts, natural disasters and more.” Along with committing to diversity and equity, the NARA said it would “[work] in conjunction with diverse communities, [and] seek to balance the preservation of this history with sensitivity to how these materials are presented to and perceived by users.” This isn’t the first time the National Archives has catered to a leftist view of history. In June, the National Archives’ racism task force claimed that the Archives’ rotunda, which houses founding documents, is an example of “structural racism.” The task force also pushed to include trigger warnings around displays of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, which are all in the rotunda. The warning is a blanket statement atop all documents in the archived catalogs that links to a “Statement on Potentially Harmful Content.”As news of the website’s warning circulated on Twitter, the NARA issued a standard response to those concerned by the “harmful” label on the Constitution. “This alert is not connected to any specific records, but appears at the top of the page while you are using the online Catalog. To learn more about why the alert about harmful language appears in our Catalog, please go to ‘NARA’s Statement on Potentially Harmful Content,’” the tweet said. Donate Here Convention of States Project www.conventionofstates.org | Fauci's NIAID Used Taxpayer Money for Dogs to be 'Eaten Alive' in Cruel Experiment By Taylor Penley | The Western Journal | September 2, 2021 | Not many things tug at our heartstrings more than man’s best friend. But sometimes, man doesn’t uphold his end of the friendship bargain. Sometimes, he even chooses to inflict pain. You’ve heard of campaigns against animal testing and experimentation. Maybe you’ve even advocated against these practices at some point — but you’ll be stunned to learn you’ve been bankrolling cruel animal experiments all along. You’d think Dr. Anthony Fauci, America’s top medical scientist, would share ethical concerns about taxpayer-funded animal cruelty. But that’s clearly not the case. According to The Federalist, Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases sent part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia so scientists could perform “cruel experiments on beagles.” The nonpartisan watchdog group the White Coat Waste Project released a shocking report detailing the mistreatment of the beagles abused in the “study,” according to the outlet. Experimenters drugged the dogs and “[locked] their heads in mesh cages filled with hundreds of infected sand flies.” They starved the flies beforehand to make them hungry and isolated the beagles in the cages for nine consecutive nights, “using them as bait to attract infectious sand flies.” In the WCWP’s words, the dogs were “eaten alive.” To an animal lover (and rational person) like myself, “unbelievable” does not even begin to describe this abuse. It’s heartbreaking, unethical and sickening. And to make matters worse, this is being funded with your tax dollars, without your consent. The experiments in Tunisia aren’t the only beagle “research” the NIAID has funded. The agency also spent a whopping $424,455 to fund experiments at the University of Georgia that infected beagles with parasite-carrying flies. The dogs reportedly “vocalized in pain” during the experiments. Sadly, they were scheduled to be euthanized in June. Who could do something like this to innocent dogs? Who could allow this to happen? Anthony Fauci, America’s health and wellness czar, apparently. Better yet, who has the authority to put an end to it? ![]() According to the Post Millennial, 14 Republican representatives wrote a letter in July to National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins — who oversees the NIAID — demanding to know why the agency had been using taxpayer funds for such “research.” The letter reiterated a claim we famously heard during a heated exchange between Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Fauci in July — that the NIAID had funded “gain of function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the lab where many people speculate the coronavirus originated. Americans deserve to know where their money is going. They deserve the chance to say “no” and demand an end to this despicable experimentation. I, for one, am determined to defend the defenseless — animal or human — and I hope others are committed to doing the same. Taylor Penley is a political commentator residing in Northwest Georgia.
