Convention of States Illinois is pleased to welcome Representative LaShawn Ford to our growing list of bipartisan supporters in the Illinois General Assembly. “We're working hard to see this accomplished by the close of the 2016 legislative session, and we appreciate Rep. Ford's leadership in helping to make that happen,” says Vickie Deppe, Illinois Legislative Liaison.
Rep. Ford agreed to join the COS effort during this week's “Surge” visit, in which volunteers from around Illinois join our state leadership team as they converge on the Capitol to provide legislators with literature and a list of their constituents who have signed our on-line petition. The visits allow COS supporters to connect personally with legislators, and provide participants with an “insider's view” into the workings of our General Assembly. Surge visits are planned throughout the legislative session and all COS supporters are encouraged to attend. The next Surge visit will take place on February 17.
