We often talk about government overreach and one could hardly wonder why. News outlets, pundits, bloggers, and every talking head coast to coast are focused on the same things. Our public narrative has become an endless stream of polarizing debates on the immense lawlessness we’re seeing played out before us on TV, Facebook, Twitter, and our favorite talk radio stations.

Americans remember our service men and women and all who have served, are serving and will serve.

Imagine your son or daughter sprouting like a weed while you're gone, serving. Imagine sleepless nights wondering about the safety of your spouse and home far away, while serving. Imagine training until your legs feel like mush and your lungs are bursting, preparing to serve. Imagine being called to take up arms for the sake of your homeland, while serving in foreign places. Imagine not knowing what your next mission may require, for the sake and safety of others you may never even meet.

Imagine those who may come home scarred by combat images they cannot forget and the loss of an innocence they can barely recall. Who can estimate the cost of such sacrifice?

Now, imagine the unthinkable. That those for whom such sacrifices are made, would forget.

To express our gratitude and respect is the greatest dignity left to those under the protection of our service members. We must never forget. We must never withhold the honor due them.

Thank you, to all our veterans who have served in times of war and peace, at home and abroad. We owe you a debt. We offer you the deepest gratitude and respect. And even in that honoring, it will never be enough to repay you for your service.
