In a Letter to the Editor on July 13, an informative article appeared in Colebrook's The News and Sentinel paper (requires a paid subscription).

District Captain Eric Brungot made time to inform local residents on the details of Convention of States. In addition to all the factual information shared, this particular quote spoke to the temperament of NH citizens:

“According to Mark Meckler, President of the Convention of States, “The problems are big, but we have a solution as big as those problems. Article V (of the U.S. Constitution)  gives us the tool our Founding Fathers intended for us to use to fix the mess in D.C.” Article V came about because the Founding Fathers, having just fought a tyrannical government themselves, wanted to make sure there was a process available in the U.S. Constitution to protect future generations from the oppression against which they had fought a war. In fact, the Founding Fathers found Article V so important, they voted unanimously to approve it, a rare occurrence at the time.”

I have heard some say they had a similar concern; delegates attending a convention only to not agree. It may seem like a “rare occurrence” these days as well, but when the mission is clear and the reasons are high, I am confident that there will be agreement!

NH citizens know that this is the time to take action.

NH citizens are unhappy with the overreach of our federal government.

And NH citizens have hope that Article V of the U.S. Constitution can level the playing field by restoring our nation to the Founders' vision, where the states are in control.

This truly American movement for self-governance benefits all of “We the People.”

This is the ONLY non-violent means to fix our structural problems in Washington, D.C.
