  1. Read A Story
  2. Give A Presentation
  3. Recite / Memorize The Preamble
  4. Play A Game (Preamble Scramble
  5. Constitutional Convention Up Close

Display the painting of George Washington at the Constitutional Convention, in 1787.  Invite students to describe what they see:  What do you notice about the people in the painting? What are the people in the painting doing?  Where is George Washington? Why do you think the painter put him there?

  1. Recruit a former student to go back to their favorite teacher’s class and read a story or make a presentation.
  2. Dress up as a constitutional character and tell the story from their perspective.
  3. Research some of the amendments that have been proposed over the years and discuss.  (there are some very interesting ones)
  4. Talk about Article V and how we change the Constitution.
  5. Anything to spark an interest and inspire the students about our exceptional country.
