Rudy's Barbecue was the scene of the meet-and-greet that kicked off the launch of the Texas Capitol Brigade.
The purpose of the Capitol Brigade is to build a strong team of patriot volunteers that are available to make their presence known in Austin on relatively short notice.
About 50 people showed up for the October 5 meeting. The first session was focused on helping train leaders and especially clarify the District Captain on-boarding process.
From there the meeting moved toward a more informal time of connecting with current volunteers and new supporters.
Al Torres, District Captain from New Braunfels, brought three people to the meeting.
“The commentary on the ride home was all positive,” he reported. The newcomers were very impressed with state leader Bill Ely's knowledge of Article V and the COS process.
In a big state like Texas where many of our communications happen via technology, it's always great to meet fellow COS patriots in person, especially to put names with the faces of new volunteers. The Austin meeting was no exception.
