In January 2021, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) planned to spend $11.3 million of our taxpayer dollars to address environmental pollution in Vietnam.

The project aimed to reduce environmental pollution in targeted areas across Vietnam by encouraging locals to stop burning trash, promoting recycling, and working with schools to get kids to “influence households’ improved environmental decision-making.“

There are pressing issues in the US that should be addressed. More importantly, this approach will not make any difference to the climate impact in Vietnam or worldwide.

Wasting $11.3 Million to tell the Vietnamese not to burn their trash is a bit outrageous, don't you think?
