When Brenda Hudelson first learned about Convention of States on the web, she spent some time learning about it, and the more she learned, the more she respected the organization. She saw COS as a deeply rooted, quality organization with a good purpose and soon after joined the team as a volunteer activist.
Hudelson helped State Director Shirlee Meier with county fairs that educated the public about COS. In addition to helping Shirlee with fairs, Hudelson supported her at meet and greets hosted at the library.
Taking Charge
Now Hudelson occasionally hosts her own meet and greets at a local coffee shop, to inform guests about COS, has gotten involved in letter writing campaigns to politicians, and is currently seeking out South Dakota newspapers who will accept articles from the SD COS Media Content Writer.
Amazed by the People
While working with the COS team, Hudelson was amazed by the community that COS builds. Hudelson said, “You know it’s the people you meet who are willing to do something…they are willing to take a stand for what they believe in.” She explained that just being informed about COS sparks the next step to increasing activity. “You get involved in this and learn about other causes that are just as sound. And the quality and integrity of character in the people involved in them….I was amazed.”
While volunteering with Convention of States, Brenda Hudelson is fueled with a belief that a “Convention of States” needs to happen. She emphasizes that Article V was put in the Constitution to be used. Hudelson perceives the current corruption in the government as a growing evil, and when asked what gives her hope for the future of America she responded, “God says He’ll deal with evil. That’s what gives me hope.” Convention of States can be used as a vessel for God as a grassroots army that loves our country and is fighting to reclaim the land that God has entrusted us with.
