Capt. William de Powell, commander of the guard and member of the Virginia House of Burgess, arrived at Jamestown, Virginia Colony, in 1610. Next are John Prentice Turner and Edward Doty, both signers of the “Mayflower Compact.” They arrived on the Mayflower at Plymouth Colony in November 1620.

Besides being my ancestors, what did these men have in common? Freedom is why they ventured so far from England. They wanted the freedom to live and attain happiness by being free from an oppressive government. They came here to stake their claim to the pursuit of freedom. To live without being told how to live by some tyrant, some oppressor, who dictated that they must follow his/her will. Disobedience could earn you a place on the scaffold in the “Tower of London.” No jury, no trial by your peers. You were guilty and summarily hung.

Does that sound familiar? We’re seeing it today with tyrants who think they are smarter than us and want us to conform to their unconstitutional philosophies and their total disregard for the U.S. Constitution. Today, “We the People” are sadly unaware of our unalienable rights, rights given to us by our Creator. We are unaware of our Bill of Rights, amendments to our Constitution that encourage us to live as free people. Our Founding Fathers formed the Constitutional Republic and we are supposed to be the boss, not the government.

It’s all upside down today. Congress and almost all our government leaders are men and women of low character and morality. They want to disarm us so they can enslave us. Will we allow this to happen? For me personally, “hell no.” As Americans, we need to lose our apathy, visit the election polling sites, and begin to vote these elected officials out of office. Sadly, we are ignorant of an article in the Constitution that gives us a saving grace from civil disturbance.

Article V, section 2, of the U.S. Constitution allows states to band together. If a majority of states pass and send a Convention of States Resolution to Congress, Congress must set a time and a place for that convention. We the People can peacefully negotiate with other states for amendments to the Constitution. We do not have to take up arms to make a change. Many volunteers make this organization function and function well. We have a common goal and we will see it through. I’m proud to be a volunteer, an activist, and a “Patriot”, trying to save America from destruction and demise.

A well formed militia.
God Bless America
