Convention Of States is a nonprofit dedicated to building an engaged army of self- governing grassroots activists. Our goal is to inspire a political and spiritual awakening across the country.

We're working to rein in the federal government by calling a Convention of States on three topics:

1) Term Limits - 75% of Americans believe in Term Limits.

2) Budget - common sense fiscal restraints on the Federal government for spending & taxation

3) Decision-making done closer to home vs. by people far away?

Second, take advantage of COS University. We offer free classes to the general public pertaining to the Constitution and Convention of States. Once you have completed the three introductory courses and have been assigned a volunteer position you will have access to our full catalog of classes that will help strengthen your knowledge and ability to perform your duties and defend America.

C. If they want to do a volunteer activity in 10 min or less:

Learn about the COS resolution and Article V of the Constitution on https://conventionofstates.com/resources, where you will ﬁnd articles and videos. Most take less than 10 minutes. Remember that knowledge is power.
Hand-write a note to your Michigan House Rep and Senator asking for their support of the Convention of States resolution. (Pass on all legislator responses to us. We keep track.). Addresses found by visiting: www.michigan.gov/government
Write a letter to the editor of your local paper. We can provide a script.
If you belong to any organization or committee, ask to invite us to present about COS.
As our Town Hall events continue, we want to know places to hold meetings for no charge. Minimum occupancy 30. Would you please provide name and address?
Help promote events. Share a notice of upcoming COS events on community boards in your area.
If you have relationships with your community leaders, ask if we can come and share COS with them at one of their monthly meetings.
Social Media: Please like our Facebook page: Convention of States Michigan. Could you share and comment on our posts? Any comments are always kind and respectful, regardless of others' tone.

D. If they want to do a volunteer activity that takes >10 min:

Schedule an appointment with a state legislator for a Tuesday or Wednesday. We will join you and do all the talking if you like.
Set up a casual meeting of interested friends. We will be there to help (if needed).

After a voicemail or live call, it is time to send an email. Here is suggested wording:

In the subject line, I always type 'thank you __________ for signing our petition at Convention of States. If the call went well, I might put 'nice to talk with you tonight and thank you for volunteering at Convention of States.com.’ You can also type in the email after the first line, 'Nice to talk with you tonight.'
