Texas Convention of States mobilized together to work with the Texas Legislature to pass the COS resolution, SJR 2, in May 2017. It was a victory not just for COS, but for all Texans, that they may build a stronger state where everyone can thrive. Yet, our work has just begun.

It took years to get to this point where our rights are nothing more than talking points for the latest news cycle. It's going to take a monumental grassroots effort to restore the freedoms established by our Founding Fathers. In fact, it will require a grassroots army to do it.

**Engagement** is our watchword! Not only do we need to stay engaged in order to bring about the ultimate ratification of the amendments that will be proposed at the convention, but more importantly, engagement is necessary to preserve America as a self-governing nation where We the People decide.

**We always have a need for volunteers in Texas!** We have a specific need for a State Grassroots Coordinator, and there are also House districts that are looking for a District Captain. Our goal is to find one District Captain in every Texas state house district. The District Captain's mission is simple: find 100 people in your district willing to contact their state legislators in support of Convention of States legislation next session.

It doesn't take a huge time commitment to make a difference. Five constituent phone calls is often enough to move an issue to the top of a state legislator's priority list. In person meetings are even more effective.
