===== What a Year for Convention of States Michigan! =====

We had a goal of adding 4,000 new petition signers in 2024. //We NAILED that GOAL in November!// And we still have all of December to wrap up a stellar year!

**COS Michigan participated in more than 80 events in 2024!** We were in every region of the state, from the UP to the Indiana/Ohio border, and held online events to connect with those who couldn't catch us in person. 

To our volunteers: //You are amazing!// We are blessed by your dedication to self-governance!

=====  Let’s Keep It Going in 2025! =====

We spent 2024 preparing for 2025! The elections are over. New state representatives and senators have been elected. They will take their seats on January 8th, 2025.

What is it?

The 34Ready Legislation asks our state legislators to (1) determine a process for selecting delegates to an Article V convention, and (2) implement criminal penalties for commissioners who act beyond their authority and/or for members of the public who try to bribe or otherwise coerce a commissioner.

With so much momentum in favor of an Article V Convention, it is in the best interests of each state to pass legislation that:

  * Ensures their state's representation at a Convention.
  * Establishes clear processes and instructions for the selection, functioning, and oversight of Commissioners.
  * Eliminates confusion or uncertainty regarding the penalty for anyone attempting to manipulate an Article V Convention/Commissioners into exceeding the scope of it/their authority.

This is a precursor to introducing the Convention of States Resolution.

Getting legislation passed is no small feat, but Michigan is up for the challenge. It requires a coordinated effort by //every concerned citizen// calling on our Michigan legislators for change.
