(All FIRED UP, that is) From August 23rd through the 29th, the American Legion held their annual national meeting in New Orleans. This meeting is the American Legion’s largest annual meeting. Their motto is “Veterans Strengthening America.” Our COS mission is ‘To Build an Engaged Army of Self-governing Grassroots Activists.” Convention of States – Louisiana (COSLA) saw an immediate complementary goal between our two organizations. We decided to attend this national meeting.{{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/89202/89202_original.jpg?313x235}} A COSLA team of volunteers convened to work a booth at the meeting site. Our group was impressive, showing **GREAT TEAM SPIRIT** and **TEAM CAMARADERIE**. They set up and outfitted a booth, complete with banners, signage, educational materials, and informative give aways. Besides a goal of sharing knowledge about an Article V amendment convention, this energetic team collected nearly 400 signatures for the COS petition. The Convention of States petition  is specifically directed at state legislators who might consider sponsoring the COS application in their state legislature. {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/89206/89206_original.jpg?332x249}}Along the way, the volunteers tried out new ways of asking folks to sign the petition. How we ask individuals to sign the petition makes a difference on the number who sign the petition. Some of the methods tried included: Ø  Have you heard about our petition? Ø  Have you seen our petition? Ø  Would you consider signing our petition? Ø  Have you signed our petition? A BIG SHOUT OUT to the following volunteers for an outstanding job; for all their time, effort, and energy; and for being ALL FIRED UP at this event.
