Among them, 32 million are regular churchgoers, yet they are disengaging from the very process that could determine the future of our families, communities, and country. This election is about more than just policies; it's about reclaiming values and steering a nation that feels increasingly out of control back to the foundations of biblical truth and justice. The Bible commands us to care for our communities. In Jeremiah 29:7, we are told to //"seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you... for in its welfare you will find your welfare."// If we remain silent, we risk allowing ungodly principles to dominate, endangering the spiritual and moral direction of our country. Now, more than ever, we must rise up and exercise our God-given responsibility to vote. Just as the Israelites were called to pray for the good of their city, so too are we called to care for our nation and community. Our involvement in elections is part of seeking that welfare as we work to see our values reflected in the public square. Many Americans believe that if their side loses, it will mark the end of the nation as we know it. While I don’t subscribe to this extreme view, I do believe that if certain forces prevail, America will face challenging times ahead. A nation that turns away from God cannot prosper indefinitely. The very God who created the universe also played a role in establishing America as a Christian nation—regardless of what detractors may claim. As John Adams wisely noted, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Unfortunately, for several generations, We the People have allowed our children to grow up without an understanding of our nation’s founding principles or the numerous ways in which God’s hand shaped our history. Our progressive culture has distorted or erased the miraculous stories that defined America's founding. Our children have been misled into despising the country they are blessed to live in, instead of recognizing the unparalleled freedom and opportunity it offers. While these teachings indeed call for compassion and mercy, they are often removed from their original context, leading to misunderstandings. Jesus emphasized personal responsibility and loving one’s neighbor, but He never advocated for actions that enable lawlessness, endanger communities, or undermine justice. Using His words to justify open borders is a misapplication of His message. Let’s explore how Jesus’ teachings fit within a broader biblical understanding of both love and the need for order, security, and righteous governance. America's moral and religious values, once the foundation of our society, seem to be at an all-time low. Many feel we are drifting further from the principles that made our country great—principles deeply rooted in faith and reliance on God. Amid this cultural decline, it is more important than ever to turn back to the One who guided our Founders through trials far more daunting than our own. In his first Thanksgiving proclamation, President George Washington called upon the nation to recognize "the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor." Washington understood the necessity of seeking God's face, not just for personal blessing, but for the prosperity and stability of the entire nation. Today, that same duty beckons us. Without a return to moral clarity and dependence on divine guidance, our republic risks collapsing under the weight of division and unchecked power. The former is called an internal quorum rule. It is determined by the commissioning authority—that is, by each state for its own committee. For example, when New York commissioned its three delegates to the Constitutional Convention, it specified that any two must be present (and agree) to cast the state’s vote. As for the quorum of states necessary on the floor and the margin required for decision, by both common law and court decision, a majority of states participating in the gathering is necessary for a quorum, and a majority of states voting (a quorum being present) is necessary to decide. --Robert G.
