He first mentioned HR 51, the Washington, D.C. Admission Act. This act would allow Washington DC to become a state. DC would then have two senators and one representative in Congress. DC already has representation in the Electoral College: three votes, to be exact. But this act would provide DC several more Electoral votes on top of the votes they already have. The White House would become the sole district territory of DC.  Rep. Fallon also addressed the proposed Infrastructure Bill. He told us it includes senior care, paid leave, and child care among other expensive subsidies. He noted that approximately 97% of the COVID Relief funds never reached COVID-related recipients. Once again, fiscal responsibility is key here.\\ \\ The best part of his presentation was the story of what happened in the House of Representatives on January 6, 2021. They had no idea of what was going on outside until security informed them over the loudspeaker system the Capitol was breached. The representatives still didn’t fully understand what was happening, but as guards came in to escort them to an undisclosed location, alarm rose.\\ \\ Freshman Rep. Fallon collected his possessions to evacuate and turned to Rep. Tony Gonzalez, another freshman from South Texas saying, “Come on, let’s go!” However, Rep. Gonzalez didn’t reply nor did he move. Rep. Fallon decided to remain, thinking, “Well, if this freshman can stay, so can I!” Ronnie Jackson and Troy Nehls (Texas), Mark Wayne Mullin (Oklahoma), and Ken Buck (Colorado) also remained. Fallon saw Gonzalez had a club in his hand. He had taken the support from a hand sanitizing station and was holding it like a true warrior. Fallon thought that looked like a good idea and armed himself the same way.\\ \\ They barred the large entrance into the sacred Chamber of Diplomacy through which the United States President enters every year to give the State of the Union Address.\\ \\ Suddenly, the sound of gunshots rang through the building and bursts of dust flew into the room from the door, as though it had been shot several times. “Now, we were really scared. We didn’t know what was on the other side of that door. Machine guns?” Rep. Fallon recalled. He later learned it was actually the end of a flagpole struck against the door. The repeated impact left marks and made sounds that imitated bullets.\\ \\ But the men around him, police and congressmen, weren’t about to retreat; they held their ground. The Senate was breached that day, but the House of Representatives was not.\\ \\ This is the kind of courage and commitment we need both in Congress and in Convention of States. It is this willingness to stand for truth that characterizes the patriots and principles of COS. Let’s keep holding our ground.
