He had arms like massive steel cables, and he wielded 200 pounds of armor and weaponry with a ferocity and brutality that had an entire army of trained soldiers quaking in their sandals. Goliath fell.\\ \\ One small stone out of five, slung through the air by the hand of a shepherd boy barely grown into manhood. The youngest of his brothers, one boy--who would one day be crowned king of God’s chosen people--stood against Goliath, while his brothers cowered and rebuked him for showing them up.\\ \\ And the Giant fell.\\ \\ The Midianite army was 135,000 strong. They were powerful, they were strong warriors used to winning, and they took no prisoners. They sent Israel’s men, women, and children running for the hills in fear. They scoffed at Israel’s beleaguered army, and they mocked Israel’s God. {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/37260/37260_original.jpg?519x574}}\\ The Midianite army fell.\\ \\ One mocked and belittled warrior--who had to beat his wheat in a winepress to hide it from the Midianites--gathered an anxious and fearful army of 300 men out of 32,000. One man who tested God with fleece and morning dew sent an unbeatable army into such a whirlwind of fear and hysteria that they ran for miles with Israel in pursuit.\\ \\ And the Giant fell.\\ \\ Shall I go on?\\ \\ There is story after story told in the Bible about the underdog battling against impossible enemies and impossibly managing to win. Every one of these stories is true history, and every one of them has three things in common. - There’s an underdog, whether it’s a single person or a nation that had taken beating after beating from surrounding nations. - There’s the enemy, so large and overwhelming and unbeatable that victory over them is incomprehensible by human standards. It just won’t happen. - Then there’s God. And His presence in the story is why the Giant falls. Every single time. I just got done listening to a debate between Michael Farris and Larry Arnn, done in 2015 right when the Convention of States was just getting off the ground. While our government was run by the same stale, power-grubbing lobbyist-bootlickers we’ve had for several generations already, we were still insulated from the egregious actions taking place in all three branches behind the scenes.\\ \\ As Thomas Jefferson so succinctly put it, we humans are, “more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”\\ \\ We were in a state of comfort and complacency, but now the Convention of States movement is poised to upset to the status quo.\\ \\ So I can understand Larry Arnn’s arguments, because I’ve made those arguments before. Why mess with what we have? We’re still okay. We’ve never done a convention before, and there’s probably a good reason for that. Why not just elect better legislators the next time around? Fight harder to get a better president in office. After all, we have better, more conservative justices on the Supreme Court now, so that should balance us out a bit. Right?\\ \\ How’s that working for us, now?\\ \\ While the Giant gets bigger and stronger, we chose for years to cower in our caves and mountains in the hope of riding out the battle, because, for the most part, Washington D.C. didn’t actually affect our day-to-day life. Yes, the high taxes hurt, the gender-neutral bathrooms were weird, and we weren’t too sure about Obamacare, but we were still free to speak and worship and live according to our values.\\ \\ It’s 2021 now. 2020 was a wake-up year. It’s no longer about suffering while the evils are sufferable.\\ \\ Governors, legislators, the medical community, and the news media all took full rein of the narrative, and we fell hard as a nation. We gave up our liberty for the promise of safety, and we are now discovering that we deserve neither. The new administration lies, cheats, steals, and bullies their way via multiple, unprecedented attacks on our fundamental, God-given rights.\\ \\ The thing is, I still believe in the God of the underdogs. I still believe in the fundamental principles that created this nation and made us the freest, richest, most liberty-loving nation in the world. Not just for the 230-plus years we’ve been a nation. There’s never been another nation like this one and the rest of the world knows it.\\ \\ So, here’s my view on the matter.\\ \\ The Convention of States movement is the underdog. We are the patriots who are outgunned by the Giant of a government and its arms of Big Tech and legacy media. This Giant is armed to the teeth with 200 tons of regulation armor, judicial activist bullies, and unholy alliances with communist countries. And this Giant is wearing its kicking boots.\\ \\ But we have a sling and five stones.\\ \\ We have a small army, some torches, and trumpets.\\ \\ Even more importantly, we have God on our side. {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/37259/37259_original.jpg?644x322}}\\ \\ And the Giant will fall. #|PETITION_WIDGET{petition_tag:;coalition_id:;anedot_url:}|#
