This is one of those looks. Are you tired of hearing the same old news that we are losing the battle? That is not true. We are just beginning to fight and to gather our resources.  Ronald Reagan was one of the best Presidents we ever had. He may have been a “B” actor, but he sure was an “A” President. He loved America and he loved the people who lived here. He always told the truth and he was humble enough to let the other guy claim victory. Here is a synopsis of a speech he gave on behalf of Barry Goldwater. **A Time for Choosing** “You and I are increasingly told we have to choose between a left or right. Well, I’d like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There’s only up or down – up to man’s age-old dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order – or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. And regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course. “The Founding Fathers knew a government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. They also knew, those Founding Fathers, that outside of its legitimate functions, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector of the economy. “So, we have come to a time for choosing.” The sole purpose of a Convention of States is to re-establish limits on government. Do we continue to spend irresponsibly and saddle our heirs with incomprehensible debt? Do we embrace a ruling elite that determines everything we do? Has Congress lost its focus on the American people? Instead of protecting our rights, do they trample them instead? Do we now have a ruling elite that is reminiscent of the King of England? We, the American people have granted to government certain powers to facilitate foreign relations, to provide for the common defense, to regulate communication and commerce between states, to manage the budget for its activities, to enforce the laws of the land, to assure compliance to The Constitution of these United States, and to protect our natural God-given rights enumerated in The Bill of Rights. Has the government shirked these responsibilities and is it time to take back these rights for the people? A Convention of States appears to be the sole way to bring governance back to the people. If your state has not seen fit to support a Convention of States, please write your legislators expressing your desire supporting a Convention of States. Do it this week. **"So, we have come to a time for choosing."**
