Socialism promises a utopian lifestyle free from worry and discrimination. Everyone is equal (except the ruling elite), everyone gets an equal outcome (except for the ruling elite and those favored by the elite), and there are no more income disparities (except for the ruling elite). It's a planned economy where there are no recessions (just a continuous one), where you are told what you will be, when you will be, and how you will be. The Utopia you always dreamed about will have cameras everywhere monitoring your every move. You will have a social score that will be updated daily and allow you to travel and have certain privileges that others will not have (that is called equality in Utopia).  \\ \\ Socialism has been tried at least 25 times throughout history. In each case, it has proven to be a disaster which leaves countries devastated. The ruling elite make out like bandits, and the people are left with the ruins. Socialism promises a lot, but delivers only misery. But they keep promising that this time it will be different. This time they have it right, and Utopia will be ours for the taking. Ask Russia how socialism turned out for them. Ask China how they enslave entire classes of people to provide the United States with cheap products. Ask China how much money they take in by selling organs of enslaved populations. Ask socialists how they remain in power. Ask Venezuelan people how they like socialism.   How are you going to be satisfied with a planned economy? Does a bureaucrat know what you want for dinner, kind of car you would like to drive, what you like to see on TV, how many children you should have, what kind of home in which you live, clothes you can wear, or your life’s work? A free market economy delivers all these things without a bloated government. The bigger a government is, the more rules we have to follow. Why? Because that is what governments do. They solve problems, even when there are no problems to solve.\\ \\ The environmental push is the epitome of government control. Instead of letting the people and prices dictate what energy forms we use, we have a government that is going to decide what forms of energy are going to be permitted, no matter what price we have to pay.   In one year we have gone from a surplus production of energy to asking for the Saudis to give us more oil. How does this happen? When you subvert free market operations, you get this kind of result. \\ \\ So, how did we get into this mess? When bureaucrats determine what is good, then the rights of the people are going to be trampled. Our natural rights are defined in the first ten amendments to the Constitution and the rules by which to live are defined in the Ten Commandments. These are our natural rights that no person or government should absolve or try to change. Can it really be that simple?\\ \\ How do we rein in big government? Cutting the budget of the federal government would be a good start and requiring the government to live within that budget. There will be gnashing of teeth and a lot of wailing, but Congress--in its quest to buy votes--cannot curtail its desire to spend its way out of trouble. None of us can live beyond our means for very long and neither can the government. Nature has a way of slapping us down when we go too far astray from natural laws. There is no free lunch.\\ \\ Socialism promises a lot, but delivers very little–except to the ruling elite. For those who believe that socialism is a superior form of government, then those people should go to Venezuela, Bolivia, Miramar, and any other place that has tried socialism and talk to the people. Do you want to bet they have a different perspective on what socialism has to offer? #|LEADER_POSITION_FORM{leader_position:volunteer_activist}|#
