Eight new supporters signed our COS petition. Candidates for county, state, and national positions presented their varied platforms. But what was driven home that day by all speakers is that we must vote. The candidates asked us to encourage and educate others to vote and help people understand how to process their ballot.  One of the responsibilities of an engaged citizen activist is to exercise her right to vote. It is one tool we have to influence who will represent us in Washington, D.C., in our state capitols, and in our counties and towns. {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/33288/33288_original.JPG?256x342}} Voting is governed by laws in the constitutions of each state, which mirror the United States Constitution. The 15th, 19th, 24th, and 26th Amendments and the Federal Civil Rights Acts of 1870, 1957, 1960 and 1964 all have protected Americans’ right to vote.\\ Let’s research the candidates before we vote to know what they believe, how they have served in our state or country, and what they intend to do once they are elected. Candidates are most likely to listen to us during their election campaigning. Tell them what we the People believe. Once they are elected, we must hold them to their campaign promises and educate them about Article V and the Convention of States Project.  {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/33282/33282_original.JPG?285x380}} We thank our dedicated COS activists, who came to hear the candidates and speak with attendees: Media Liaison Gary Brenner  D40, Follow up Team Member Piera Accumanno D40, Volunteer Regina Nataluk D26, District Captain Francesca Nordin D26, and Regional Captains Janet Hagen and Glenn Barone.
