The New Jersey Secretary of State, Tahesha Way, Esq. certified the votes for the state officials on November 30, 2021. This article focuses on the results of the state legislator races.  ===== Get Out the Vote ===== Convention of States New Jersey had a Get Out the Vote TelePatriot mission before the election. We made over 3,500 calls in districts D2, D8, D11, D21 and D25. ===== State Legislator Election Results ===== From a Convention of States perspective, the election results of the state legislature are of vital importance, as our COS resolution must pass through both chambers of the legislature.  With one exception, all sponsors and co-sponsors of COS resolution won their elections by a strong margin.\\ \\ The committee members that will be considering the COS resolution will change after the first of the year, and we will provide you with more information once that has been made available. See the full article [[https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/voter-turnout-in-2021-nj-governor-election-among-lowest-in-a-century-at-40-25/ar-AARlUPp?ocid=uxbndlbing|here]]. Only 40% of eligible voters cast their ballots in the 2021 election. With more ways to vote with mail-in ballots and early voting, only 1% more registered voters participated in this last election from the 2017 election. ===== Gubernatorial Results ===== Governor Phil Murphy, a Democrat, won re-election against Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli. Ciattarelli carried 11 of the 21 New Jersey counties but lost the popular vote by 3.2% (1,339,471 votes to 1,255,185). The committees will begin this work early next year, so we should know the new districts by late winter 2022.  ===== Conclusion ===== New Jersey’s political landscape is changing. More people are paying attention to what is happening in our state, and they are speaking out. Convention of States is the solution to keep our freedoms. Using Article V of the U.S. Constitution, we are driving to a Convention of States in order to propose amendments to our Constitution in the areas of term limits on federal officials, fiscal restraint, and federal overreach.
