Congress and its bureaucrats will never limit their own power. They will continue to spend irresponsibly and take over policymaking in areas like education and commerce–issues that should be left to the states and local governments. The only way to correct this is from the outside–and the states have the power to do it through Article V of the Constitution.

**It’s time for more states to join with the other 19 that have already passed their resolutions for an Article V meeting to propose constitutional amendments that will put the brakes on the federal government. **

When 34 state legislatures pass resolutions for a convention, Congress is required to set a time and place for the meeting. The convention can only propose amendments. It takes 38 states to ratify them. Under our resolution, the state delegations could only consider amendments that would put fiscal restraints on the federal government, put more limits on federal power, and set term limits for federal politicians and bureaucrats.
