She plans to reintroduce this \\ legislation during the 2023 \\ Louisiana legislative session, and \\ will need the help of concerned \\ citizens to overcome the \\ pressure of persistent forces to  indoctrinate our youth in sexual \\ perversion. **This is a link to the bil**l; https:%%//%% legiscan.com/LA/bill/\\ HB837/2022\\ During the 2022 session there was \\ an army of  individuals eloquently \\ lobbying for “sex education” for \\ youth, beginning in preschool. I believe that we must protect our \\ children from these predators, \\ and I will do all that I can to \\ recruit help to defeat this effort in \\ our schools. //**That is the point of this article: **// //**to enlist invincible support for **// //**Louisiana’s youth, and energetic **// //**opposition for the efforts of Social **// //**Emotional Learning proponents.**// During the 2021-22 school season, \\ many parents in Louisiana and \\ around the nation were alerted \\ to the dangers of CRT (critical \\ race theory.) Parents came out  of the background,  confronting their  school boards \\ publicly. Be advised that  CRT is only a feature  of the much larger  totalitarian objective  called //** “Social Emotional **// //**Learning”  or SEL.**// If you doubt me, please browse \\ the tangischools.org website, and \\ search these terms for yourself. Having visited one school board \\ meeting during the past school \\ year, I couldn’t help noticing \\ the constant use of terms such \\ as equity and social emotional \\ learning, with an emphasis on \\ Summer learning programs. I \\ browsed their website and found \\ these terms defined in harmless \\ and innocent ways. \\ My conclusion is that these \\ deviant programs have not yet \\ been incorporated into our  public school system, but my \\ concern is that the use of the \\ terms leaves open the redefining \\ of them at a later date.\\ The following information \\ reinforces my concern. //** “Welcoming Classrooms”**// is  a term that provides educators \\ with an environment, free from \\ parent scrutiny (or in many cases \\ even knowledge) where students \\ can be allowed or encouraged \\ to discuss perversions of many \\ kinds. There are many features and \\ trademarks that make up this \\ platform. //**“Social Emotional Learning” **// //**is a Trojan Horse to introduce **// //**children to all of the perversions **// //**that parents want to protect their **// //**children from.**// A child’s world view is well \\ established by the time they \\ reach thirteen years of age. That \\ means that in order to instill in \\ them a biblical world view, they \\ must be protected from Marxist \\ perversions during these very \\ impressionable years.\\ If schools, who have a monopoly \\ on most children’s time, are \\ allowed to indoctrinate them with \\ atheistic perversions, we will be \\ fighting an uphill battle for our \\ children’s well-being.\\ The proponents of  “Social \\ Emotional Learning” are adept at \\ adapting their verbiage to deflect \\ attention away from their goals. \\ They don’t want to alert parents \\ to their objectives.\\ These are some of the terms that \\ fall under the umbrella of “Social \\ Emotional Learning,” and they \\ are all included in the Tangipahoa \\ school system. //**• CRT, or critical race theory**// //**•  Changing of values, beliefs**// //**    & mindset**// //**•  CSE, or comprehensive**// //**    sex education**// //**•  Equity**// //**•  Gender identity**// //**•  Welcoming Classrooms**// //**•  Intersectionality**// //**•  Summer programs**// Some of our school districts are on \\ the leading edge of providing these \\ dangerous environments.\\ These ideas originally were \\ introduced at the college and \\ high school levels. They are now \\ being introduced in earlier and \\ earlier grade levels. This gives \\ the purveyors of these evil ideas \\ access to young minds at the most \\ receptive and impressionable \\ point in their lives. This is the time when parents are \\ to guide their children’s reception \\ toward the most important \\ principals of life. These forces \\ hope to undermine and sabotage \\ these efforts.\\ There is another troubling \\ aspect of SEL. According to //Dr. \\ Carol Hanes,// there is a mental \\ health component of SEL. Our \\ education systems are authorizing //** **// //**“behavioral specialists” who, **// //**without parental knowledge **//are  making mental health judgments \\ and recommendations to our \\ youth.\\ There is a concern that mental \\ health surveys and assessments \\ may be used to label the children \\ of 2nd Amendment supporters as \\ unfit.\\ It is possible that these \\ instruments may be used to disarm \\ a generation of Americans. My goal is to alert as many \\ Americans, and especially \\ Louisiana citizens, of these \\ dangers, so that we can be effective \\ in our opposition to them. //**God bless you, Dave**// {{:cb_mirror_public:media:files_16754_pdfto003.png?nolink&1836x1188 |background image}} 5 4 //As we grow the grassroots, influence our \\ legislators, and educate the American people, \\ we must master our ability to effectively \\ articulate the mission of COS in order to save\\  our great nation.// //That is why we are launching an elevator pitch \\ competition called COS Voices wherein the \\ grand prize winner will be awarded an all \\ expense paid trip to the historic 2023 Simulated Con-\\ vention of States!// //Record a video of 60 seconds or less describing the \\ Convention of States Project to someone who has \\ never heard of it. After a short strategy session and on boarding for  Patrick,Winston, Julie, Luke and Van began  //**the first ever Louisiana block walk. **// We walked together in a very nice neighborhood and managed to talk to some very \\ nice and concerned citizens. We even had petitions signed and volunteer interest. \\ The day was very hot and humid and we  eventually ran out of time. However it \\ was a successful day.  We learned our elevator speeches, we honed our communication skills  and we \\ were rewarded by getting a few petitions signed. This is the beginning of something \\ we can do in the future when the weather is cooler.  On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Van drove from Lafayette to the COS \\ Regional Meeting in Baton Rouge. The meeting was held in the East Baton Rouge \\ main library on Goodwood Boulevard. The facility is a very nice open room with \\ audio visual hook up. At 6 PM the meeting was called to order by  //**Cliff Ancelet**//. I did not count heads but we had a respectable attendance.  Cliff led in with the Pledge of Allegiance and Van opened with a brief prayer. \\  Julie came to the podium and welcomed us all. \\   //**Jeanine**// came afterward and explain why she joined COS and explained her role as District Captain. Julie talked about  //**self governance, our **// //**unalienable rights, constitutional orginalism and freedom**// from a Convention  of States perspective.  //**Dale Clary**// talked for quite some time explaining to the new COS folks about  **Article 5** and the arguments for and against calling a Convention. He clearly explained the process to be followed when an  **Article 5** **Convention** is called.  The group was very interested during the entire meeting. Many people had \\ questions and brought up their thoughts about today’s dilemma with the federal\\  government and its representatives. The meeting adjourned around 8:30 PM. Patrick,  Winston,  Julie,  Luke  & Van  began  the first  ever  Louisiana  block walk.  {{:cb_mirror_public:media:files_16754_pdfto004.png?nolink&1836x1188 |background image}} Send Public Records Request to your local school \\ system asking for information regarding professional\\ development training in Social Emotional Learning \\ and Mental Health.
