In 1988, one of the world's most recognizable slogans was coined by Nike, an American footwear manufacturer. “Just Do It” became a creed to fitness enthusiasts, which later inspired millions around the world to run faster, jump higher and push past their potential, regardless of the obstacles in their path. It was named one of the five top slogans of the 20th Century. After 33 years, this slogan is still working in lives today, and I believe “Just Do It” can serve as a valuable lesson to every Convention of States volunteer or potential volunteer.\\

Taking that first step toward any goal, task or change in life is always the most difficult. Deciding to get off the couch to take a walk, make a lifestyle change, take classes, switch careers, or make any move can be tough! It certainly has been in my life – oh, but the rewards for doing so are amazing!\\
\\
Imagine climbing a mountain. Unless you’re a professional, you need a guide to forge the path forward, clearing the way, providing encouragement with every step. As you trek higher, the view becomes bigger and brighter. Then, when you make it to the peak of that mountain– oh my, the view is endless!\\
\\
This trek is a perfect analogy for the Convention of States’ movement. Together we march toward an Article V Convention while growing individually as self-governing patriots. Experienced volunteers guide We the People onward and upward, forging a path to save our great United States. Then, once states are passed, those volunteers continue to work on strengthening their states and growing the grassroots force.\\

Whenever we embark on a new journey, excuses become natural: (1) I don’t have the time; (2) today is not a good day, maybe tomorrow; (3) there’s nothing I can do to help; (4) I get tongue-tied when talking to someone. The list can be endless. The good news is, EVERYONE has a talent to contribute, and EVERYONE has the ability to learn.\\
\\
So, this is my encouragement for you: Get up, suit up, and show up. Make the decision today to volunteer. Convention of States is growing the largest grassroots movement in history as we return this country to the principles it was founded upon. Learn to be a lifetime, self-governing patriot. JUST DO IT!
