That’s what happened in the 2008 election. A little-known vice-presidential candidate from Alaska became known for her “bridge to nowhere.” Do you remember?\\ \\ Since 2008, the phrase “… to nowhere” has been used for multiple government funded and misused projects which are never completed. Hence, Alaska’s bridge, which abruptly ended, was left unfinished in the middle of nowhere.\\ \\ I recall another example with the Kavanaugh hearings a few years back: The hearing lasted well over a week, with mud-slinging from all directions. The center of attention (Justice Brett Kavanaugh) was accused of sexual misconduct when he was a teenager. This was a dream come true for those who did not want a conservative on the SCOTUS bench. Within minutes of opening the hearing, spiteful accusations were thrown quickly from left to right. Unfortunately, the accused (innocent until proven guilty) was torn apart in the middle of the fight receiving the blunt of the blows.\\ \\ Just last week, a hearing on the U.S. Gymnastics Association was held. Several young women testified about the sexual abuse they suffered at the hands of the USGA team doctor over many years, despite repeated reports to USGA of the abuse. It will be interesting to see what happens to the accused and policies of the USGA as a result of this hearing.\\ \\ That’s the problem with investigations and public hearings: they give politicians their chance in the spotlight, saying anything and amounting to little action. The public hears “we are going to get to the bottom of this” and “those responsible will be held accountable.” Really? Perhaps my memory fails me, but I don’t recall a time when a hearing or investigation resulted in any action that carried punch to it. Promises made, but sadly, never kept.\\ \\ These “investigations” lead nowhere, except to spend countless billions of dollars which the taxpayers pay. Well, I’ve had enough of the whole bureaucratic swamp. There’s no representation, no accountability, justice is not sought, our systems are suspect, our courts are in question, and we can’t trust our election process. What can a citizen do?\\ \\ Fortunately, there is a solution as big as the enormous problems our country faces: It’s called an Article V Convention. We all must act quickly toward reaching our goal of 34 states to call an Article V Convention. There are hundreds of major endorsers across a wide spectrum and many millions of Patriots who believe an Article V Convention through Convention of States is America’s best solution for our country. Sign the Petition and become a self-governing grassroots volunteer TODAY with Convention of States.
