This is done by allowing the ‘Add an Event’ option to all viewers and linking this path to a private Citizen Builder page which is available to assigned-role holders only. A separate Citizen Builder page is public but the calendar option linked to this page is ‘Read Only.’ //Exception: when a signup option is included, the public can sign up for an event.// Remember that the public can see everything because we want them to know what our activities are; we keep their editing access separate to avoid any shenanigans. Please make every effort to use polite language and to include personal information sparingly. Both pages are linked to the [[https://conventionofstates.com/welcome-to-the-missouri-information-page|COS Missouri Information Page]] with links to the other. **Accessing the calendar from the private Citizen Builder Page** **Adding an Event** - Touch the day in the calendar and a sub-screen pops up. - Fill in as much information as possible in each section. When you place your cursor within the Description box a sub-screen appears with the editing options, including the hyperlink. Remember that the public will be able to open this hyperlink unless its destiny is protected. If you are having a private Zoom meeting, remember that the public may attempt to enter. - You must choose the sub-calendar applicable and you can choose more than one, i.e. a Statewide Event and a Capitol Event. - Under the green Save button is the Options button and you can allow signups and/or comments. - If this is an online event, indicate this under the ‘Where’ section. The calendar also has an option to link a map location for a physical location. Limit this area to the street address and include any other location information in the Description section, i.e. Conference Room ABC. //Suggestion: test the mapping function for accuracy.// **Editing or Deleting an Event** This option is only permitted for editors assigned within the Teamup calendar. If you must change or cancel an event, please contact one of the editors shown on the private Citizen Builder page for assistance. **Accessing the calendar from the public Citizen Builder Page** - If a signup button is included in the event link, the public can add their information. This process will not send you a notice of a signup. Use this option if a) knowing how many people will be attending is not important; or b) if you do not plan to send a reminder email or text out before the event. - We use Citizen Builder pages to provide detailed event information and signup capabilities. The signup on these pages can provide the event manager with an email notice when someone signs up. Use this option if a) you need to know how many people plan to attend or b) if you plan to send a reminder email or text prior to the event. - We suggest that you use only one sign-up method to avoid confusion and duplication. - If your event has signups from non-supporters and you want to send them a reminder, you will need to contact them through your cosaction email account. If the signup group contains supporters or volunteers from within our database, please contact a State Communication Coordinator or the State Director for help is developing an email and/or text blast from within Citizen Builder. The benefit to sending emails and/or text from within Citizen Builder is it that a record of the interaction will be placed in the supporter/volunteer profile. **Accessing the calendar through slack** Only the private calendar is linked to Slack.
